Was very impressed with the scrappy and hardnosed play of Lipscomb against EL. However, they do not match up well with CPA. CPA will have to go ice cold and get in foul trouble for DL to win.

Though I'm cheering for the Mustangs you are probably right. CPA seems to play at a whole different level. However, not many were expecting last night's results either. That's why we play the games. Ought to be a lot of fun tomorrow night!

Amazing to me this particular Lipscomb team still alive and in the final 16 teams in the state. A real credit to the program, coach and players. On the other side you have two players with high major offers on the table and the other an OVC signee with Belmont. Do these Mustangs have the horses to compete?

Not sure about the horses, but they have a lot of heart! Most people look at their record (19-10) and don't think much- but 5 of the 10 losses were to EL and CPA (4 of those by large margins) and the other losses were USN, FRA, Maplewood, MLK and Whites Creek. Other than the 4 EL and CPA large margin games all losses were 6 points or less and 2 (USN and FRA) were last second buzzer beater losses.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I disagree on public schools and private schools playing in the same division. Having said that, congratulations to Coach Pickens and the Lipscomb team. Regardless of what type of school, we were outplayed and outcoached Tuesday night. Good luck to both teams!

Now that is class! East Lit got to the finals of the State last year having plowed through public AND private schools. Things happen...one less than stellar game and you're out. It happens to publics and privates. Thanks for being "stand up" about it. East Lit had a great year!

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
