Early predictions for 8-AA 2013

I told you! Dekalb is a TD or two better than Livingston. Either those suspensions really hurt LA or Gville came to play tonight.

2 td's better than LA? That's a little bold. I heard LA sat 3 guys out who start both ways, plus have 3 guys hurt that will b back at some point. LA is at least 2-3 td better than GH this year. I say its a tossup with DC and GH with very slight edge to DC. Edited by UpperCumberlandMan

Just going by what I seen with the two teams. I hope most of those players were lineman.

Wharton is very very quick and a playmaker, just give him the ball. Gaulden looks like a good athlete. Didn't do to much tonight because we didn't throw as much and his main position is safety. They should contribute!

I wasn't able to go to the Indy scrimmage but talked to someone who did and was told the Owls looked MUCH bettter. No doubt Indy has the best team, but the Owls fumbled twice inside the 10 yard line amd had a pass intercepted in the end zone. I understand several changes were made and it definitrly helped the Owls. Again, I didn'y go, was told this from someone who did go. Any other comments from those who did go??

Whoever you talked to was right. They looked like the team they should be. It completely surprised me they did so well because of the practices I've watched and the previous scrimmage. Luke and Mason both had more time to throw it, they were just throwing against D1 defensive backs. We did have 2-3 turnovers inside the 10. I'm starting to like the offenses. Defense just needs to wrap up better, we had a few tackle for losses but they got away from them and eventually scored. Still don't have Gregory or Frazier back and I can't wait til Gregory gets back out there. I'm glad we take a step down in competition Friday, hopefully puts some more confidence in these guys.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
