I don't remember anyone "hyping" Powell either before the season or during.Powell seems to be a blue collar team . They play fundamental, disciplined basketball. No matter how you slice ir a 26 point win is a blowout.

Dont know about the hype thing, There pretty darn solid. I too was at the game and AC played a good half of Basketball. Hayes had a nice game, but cant get the ball because the guards cant make an entry pass with pressure on them I dont think he "dominated", because of the way Ogan subs in and out and Hayes didnt. It was just a game were again each of his kids knew there roll. The Race kid contrilled the whole game, offensively and defensively. It was close for a half, but I never got the feeling that Powell was going to lose, you know ? I actually left when it got to 16 points because you could see it was over.

Great game at Halls last night. Halls may be a little better than I thought. OR doesnt get the Henderson kid or Merriam kid the ball enough. They could have easily lost this gam in OT. The bunch kid wore OR out inside, especially when Merriam lefy the game. Moore played good but took a couple long shots, but he had a good floor game too. couple nice passes to bunch. Thats when there at there best, hes hard to defend when hes a passer too. Rian Hall is an athlete, didnt think he'd make both free throws at end. Both coaches whined and shook there heads all night. LOL. They both wanted this one. Kudos to both teams on a great game.

In thought it was a great game too. OR needs to work on their inbounds plays, Halls gave them fits all night just inbounding. I actually thought the refs called a good game until that nonsense late with Halls calling time out when OR already had the ball across the half court line... I might be ignorant on the rules here, but when the other team clearly has possession from the inbound all the way past half court and is setting up a play, I didn't think Halls should be allowed to call time out.

This was the game I wanted to see at Powell. GREAT game. I thought both teams missed some shots. OR missed some key FT late, and yes the inbounds plays were hurting them. Halls missed some big shots late. Moore was not on the line as much as usual. The late TO is a head scratcher but they ended putting some time back on the clock so all I can think is he called the TO after the make and the hustle from OR made it seem like he got it w/o possession. The big surprise is at the end of regulation they didn't work the ball inside. On a side note, Halls 3 losses by a total of 5 points. Should be a GREAT run to the district tourney. Rambling done, CC at home Fri.

I told ya'll this would be a game OR would have a tough time winning. Everybody...naw, OR will wear 'em out lol smh...Trust me, i know OR sports and i know the teams that give us fits in basketball EVERY YEAR...Teams just like Halls and Powell who play ball control offense who slow down the pace and try not to run the court with us. Teams that do that are the ones who get smoked by us. The thing is when we get that full court game going people are very tempted to run with us, but Powell and Halls never do. Both teams have the recipe's to give us fits every single time we play. Idk why this score is surprising to some people, they always play us tough. I knew we would have to fight tooth and nail to get this win. Powell beat Halls by 3 at Powell. We beat Halls by 1 at Halls. Winning at Halls is very difficult..They have a distinct home court advantage with a HUGE student section. This is a very very good win by OR, especially if Merrian fouled out like i hear? I was at the Duke game, so i wasn't able to hear the details, except what i have heard on here. Halls isn't gonna lose many games at home and we have accomplished beating them 2 years in a row now at their place (maybe more?)

I was curious, so I checked the CoachT database. Halls hasn't beaten OR at home since December of 2005. In fact, since the database was started (2001), Halls has only beaten OR two other times.

This was a good game, and I agree the refs did do a pretty good job except allowing that time out. OR does need to get the ball into Merrian more. They couldn't stop him. Even though Rian hit those free throws to win it, they need to work on them. They had three straight 1 and 1's that they missed the front end on. That hurt them against Powell also.

Well, that is quiet impressive on our part.

Well im afraid there are quite a few streaks like that when it comes to OR. LOL. But, with the way our district is improving, i think the gap is closing a bit. You guys know im a big 3AAA fan and I believe top to bottom were the best district in east tn. We have 4 really good teams, 2 or 3 that can beat you on a given night, and then a couple that are down right now but winning a few games.

I mean, look at it like this. OR went up to the Arbys, played some of the best teams from their respective states, went an impressive 3-1, and they have lost to district leader Powell at home, won by 1 point at Halls, only beat our 7th place team by 12. As good as they are, do you think these other teams couldve finished 3-1 against that competition? Probably not, but in our district, we can all play with anybody. Its a fun district to watch. If you havent been out to watch some of these games, youre really missing some good players, alot of good coaches, and some some hilarious student sections. (halls, cc, clinton).

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
