I agree with you smally02, my dad played for L.C. during the late 50's. He said they could go 1-9 as long as they beat loudon. Not that they ever did that bad. Different sport but he won the state Basketball title there in 58. Go Panthers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your talking high school footbal in general, you have to include Valdosta (GA) and Lincoln (FL). Schools are only about 45 minutes away from each other. There could be around 15 DI prospects on the field anytime these two teams get together. Its a battle on the border. Also West Monroe and Evangel Christian are two heavy weights that have been duking it out in Louisiana for who knows how long.

You are exactly right. My uncle played for Valdosta when they were ranked number 1 in the USA. This past season they went 8-2 or something like that and fired their coach, because the expectations are so high.

 

I also think a good rivalry is Cookeville vs. Cumberland County

cookeville vs. white county, even though this series is lopside in the past few years it is still a good rivalry. im not sure what the overall record is but it is one of the more exciting games of the year.

Boyd Buchannan vs South Pitt. This game almost always decides who wins the region. The two teams hate each other with a passion. And this year its even better because the game is Boyd Buchannans homecoming week!

Yes Boyd and SP is always a good one. Marion Co. and SP is another one that always get brough up. One of the best rivalires I ever seen. Even if you don't care for either team (like me) this is always a fun one to watch.

smith county and Gordonsville is the best county wide game and hartsville and smith co. is a good 1

The Smith co.-Gordonsville game is the only reason we don't have just one high school. Beating us is all that little town cares about.But we have beat them around 58 times to their 17 or 18. Kind of like UT and Vandy.

The Trousdale-Smith game is a big game for us but we need to win one soon to make it a big game for them.

Hey ya'll...some of you are smart and put in one of the most heated rivalries in all of East Tennessee-McMinn Central vs. McMinn County. Now I'm from McMinn Central and I know that in the past 2 seasons we've only gone 1-20, but that's beside the point. Also, even though McMinn has started winning by a bunch in recent years is not an excuse for this to not be a good rivalry. Oh and 2 all you McMinn County people out there...Jajuan ain't nothin!!!!!

Maryvill and alcoa is a huge rivalry. if you go to one and experience all the hype around it than you will understand there is nothing else in the state like it. it doesnt matter who is favored to win or if the outcome is lopsided the stadium is packed and it stays packed until the last second ticks off the clock
