9-AAA Prediction time

I would like to change my bold prediction and drop WC down to the 6 or 7 spot. Lots of spring injuries have made this team look like the 2-8 team from 2 years ago. A lot of things will have to change by fall for central to have a winning record.

Hate to hear about all the injuries. Hopefully everyone will be healthy for the start of practice this summer. Who has WC scrimmaged so far and who else will they scrimmage?

i think i will drop mine down too. I went to the scrimmage yesterday at blackman since we finished up. Blackman absolutly ran through the wildcats. wc didnt have a couple of key players but they were beat up and down the field. WC finished 5th in the region this year. Wc looks like this year should be a good year if they go .500

They scrimmaged summit on Monday and 1st team defense looked OK against them didn't give up any points but 2nd team gave up 2 tds. Thursday we played blackman. Wasn't much of a game. Had a few missing on defense and they ran it down our throats. Offense has 2 o line out. Running back. Fullback. Receiver. No blocking at all for the qb and no athletes to throw too. The scrimmage shouldn't of been played due to the injuries. Blackmans 2nd team defense started to make our 1st team offense look bad as well.

Beech for obvious reasons but they will be down.

Mt Juliet a close second.

Wilson central has talent and decent coaching.

Lebanon will be much improved with new staff.

Station camp has talent but questionable coaching.

Hendersonville just doesn't have the horses to run.

Portland will be slightly more improved.

Gallatin is hurting.

Just an outsiders opinion.

The problem with most fans is that those approach scrimmages the same way they approach games. Spring and Fall scrimmages are for getting better. Of course its nice if you score more than the opposition, but its not the end of the world. Just because WC was missing a few players doesnt mean they cancel a scrimmage against a program that gives them a good measuring stick for what it takes to make that next step.

Who did Lebanon play? Is team buying in to the new coaching staff?

They played Westmoreland and I would say so. I would also say that a 24-6 scrimmage "win" really helps confidence heading into the summer. Coach Harp has a proven track record and will do some good things once he is allowed to make hires and get "his people" in the building.

Agree- coaches use these to evaluate players/talent along with what they want to use and see.

Beech will be tough to beat, beatable YES , you just need to out score JH

Will be good one Indy vs Beech ( 4* UT ) VW will miss game with injury but they still will have Gaulden ( looks like he will go with the U of Miami) and Finnis (Missouri) in the D backfield

Gonna be interesting. I bet that most predictions are way off. Beech is 1st and everybody else could be anywhere.

Don't be counting MJ out of winning the district. Everyone thinks they will be down; but Coach Perry and his staff have a lot of talent and know how to use it.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
