Fulton has a great recruiting staff at the 8th grade level, they do a great job getting the kids from other schools to come to Fulton... Guess they will enjoy their recruited team all the way to state,

someone seems angry... catholic takes as many players as fulton. Who wouldn't want to play for winners? Yeah tee martins son Amari a 2 year star for fultons 8th grade team ended up where? Catholic but you probably didn't count that as recruiting huh? Quit crying and support your team.

Not crying facts are the facts year after year the 8th grade coaches go around selling their travel program to al the athletes in the area telling them about all the tournaments they will play then the sale begins, I think most students come to Catholic for privte education, hey more power to you guys if you have to recruit to win then recruit just do't try to act like you gusy aren't the best at it, it probably helps to have someone from your school in bed with TSSAA..

I've been reading on coacht for years how schools recruit. I honestly don't think that these schools do. I think some outsiders like youth coaches try to steer a kid to a certain school but those are few. When you're winning parents and kids want to play for that school. Your performance and tradition recruits kids. Schools like Maryville, Greeneville, Fulton, Oak Ridge, and Science Hill sell themselves there is no need to recruit. I sent my son to Catholic because of the academics (and we are Catholic). He's been attending Catholic games since he was 2 so he's always wanted to go there. Some people don't realize it but catholic had sent a lot of players to college to play football. Since 2007 Catholic has had players sign at Notre Dame, Baylor, MTSU, Navy, Duke, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Bowling Green, UT and numerous 1AA schools. Exposure is big for kids. I remember my son telling me after a basketball game last season that Amari was coming to Catholic and he said the reason was the academics and he knew he'd play as freshman which he did till he got hurt. The cheating accusation gets old. It's sad that people believe that the only you can win is by cheating?

Kids come play for the Fulton 8th grade program simply for the fact they have the best coaching staff in the area for that age group and they have a history of championships. Kids wanna play for a winner. And to be honest about 95% of the kids on that team go the middle schools that feed into Fulton. This was the first time in about 6 years that program hasn't played for the city championship.

They have a good program. My son played for Catholic Youth last year and the Falcons beat us in the championship game 13-7. They were well coached and huge.

How do you explain the Silvey kid that went to Catholic from Loudon where he played 8th grade ball last year. I'll tell you. A free education and a place to live, courtesy of Catholic High School. Not crying facts are facts. Not against Catholic fans like QSouth89 and others, but Irishlife is giving y'all a bad rap with posts like that.

Why do threads always end up pointing fingers to schools recruiting? Can we talk about the matchup?

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend due to work. I hope south will play their hearts out and the game is free of injuries but, from what I have heard about Fulton, they are a great football team with virtual no weaknesses. If there are any I'm sure that coach h will find them. Go Rebels!!

I see your point totally but many of our games we have put up 40 and 50 at the half. So do you take your starters out in the second? What happens when they face some adversity or a team that can compete with them. If our starters never played past the 2nd quarter they would not know how to handle playing a full game. I know that sounds like a poor excuse but it really isn't. I assure coach rob black is one of the classiest men I know and he would never run up the score. You can view fultons rushing stats this year the second and third string backs have scored 3 and 4 times respectively. The back up qb has 2 tds and the back up fullback has even scored once. So our back ups go just as hard as the starters. No running up the score on Fulton's side.

I know what your are saying about second and third string scoring. But, I guarantee coach is not just calling dive plays. He is probably running same offense just like first string. There is a big difference.

    • Yeah.  Kids only transfer in and out of Bearden these days, you know.   That particular poster evidentially has a personal vendetta with Josh Jones.   Consider the source.  And the kid transferring to McCallie is a terrific talent, but an opportunity to go to McCallie on scholarship (and I am assuming that is the case) is one that is very much beneficial both athletically and academically.  McCallie is a great school for both.   Bearden will be fine.  And so will both of those kids who decided with their parents/advisors to go elsewhere.
    • I think we are conducting interviews now since we have so many wanting to come to school here and play for a real team with a chance to play in front of lot's of fan's and have a chance to win a championship every year.
    • Esteemed colleagues, On this auspicious Saturday morning, I fortuitously encountered Dr. Satterfield at the Early Bird Cafe, whereupon we engaged in a discourse concerning the pool of candidates vying for a coveted position. Dr. Satterfield, possessing a discerning eye, has graciously shared insights into the contenders, which I shall now relay to you in a structured manner. Eric Vetetoe, though initially absent from my considerations, ascended to the zenith of Clint's roster, poised atop his discerning clipboard as a preeminent candidate. Kyle Gregory, with a coaching demeanor reminiscent of a bygone era, has captivated Clint's admiration. His interview performance, I am informed, left an indelible impression, aligning seamlessly with Clint's nostalgic sentiments. Davy Cothron's cerebral approach to offense, notwithstanding a past championship game setback, garners high praise from Dr. Satterfield. His strategic acumen, it appears, remains unblemished despite previous trials. Brandon Eden's steadfast allegiance to the team, evidenced by his tenure on the creekbank, earns him considerable favor in Clint's estimation. Anticipation lingers as to whether an offer may be extended in recognition of his unwavering dedication. Wesley Satterfield emerges as a compelling candidate following a favorable assessment by Mr. Satterfield himself. The prospect of a Satterfield succession holds a certain allure, embodying continuity and tradition in equal measure. Kyle Shoulders, a surprising entrant in the applicant pool, impresses Clint with his football intellect, potentially positioning him as a contender for the role. Josh Hackett's defensive prowess, particularly in encounters against Trousdale over recent years, earns commendation from Coach Satterfield, underscoring his proficiency in the strategic aspects of the game. John McNeal's track record of success across multiple sports affords him undeniable merit, though the prospect of his acceptance, if offered, remains uncertain. Chad Evitts, a former NFL luminary, presents a unique opportunity, recognized keenly by Mr. Satterfield, to infuse our program with elite expertise and experience. Matt Dyer, revered for his contributions during the regular season, faces scrutiny for his playoff performances, a dichotomy that weighs upon Clint's evaluation. Chuck Gentry, endorsed by Dr. Satterfield, embodies the promise of transformative leadership, drawing parallels to his past triumphs in revitalizing programs akin to ours. Clint extols BJ West's astute management at the middle school echelon, where his strategic maneuver of strategically calibrating the team's schedule to optimize performance stands as a testament to his sagacity and acumen in navigating competitive dynamics. In conclusion, the deliberations surrounding our prospective leadership remain nuanced and multifaceted, underscoring the significance of this decision in shaping the future trajectory of our esteemed institution.
