I appreciate that and I can not talk to darel as often as I would like because I do not live in knoxville. That lack of a father figure shows in his the way he conducts himself at times. I try to show him the right way but not being in the house with him I can only do so much. I really like how you and cats cast no stones. He has to realize that he will be held to higher standards than everyone else. Darel is not the only one to get kicked off Powell the last couple seasons yet his is the only one talked about. I hope he can continue his football career at OR... Or anywhere for that matter. Good luck this season SS

We will all whether some on here would or wouldn't welcome him with open arms if he gets his act together and becomes accountable for his actions and matures into a good young man, make no bones about that. Whether he comes here or not though the most important thing is that he gets his life straightened out. As I said earlier football doesn't last a lifetime. Their are way many things more important, but I for one would like to have him if he can be a good team player who doesn't cause trouble. Who the heck wouldn't want that monster on their team if he abided by all the rules? lol Be crazy not to.

I feel you on that one I wanted him at Fulton coming out of middle school lol. But yeah he needs to straighten up and I really believe a change in scenery will help. Great point. As the saying goes "birds of a feather flock together" the people you hang around and the way they act/carry themselves is usually how you end up acting/carrying yourself as well. Great point. Their is no denying the potential he has. I walked by him at an OR/Powell basketball game this past year and was in awe of how big he is at only 16 yrs of age at the time.

I was at practice tonight and I didn't see the kid from Powell. I doubt he's coming at all. But if he does you're right in what you say. BR and a few others think that we should ban him from OR if he comes here. What's he done exactly? I haven't heard anyone say. All I know is you people who want to condemn him at OR for getting kicked off the Powell football team are stupid. I don't think he's coming here at all anyway and I don't even care. But those of you out there who are saints are better than the rest of us, me for sure. You're really pure and angelic.... talking about a 16 or 17 year old. Disgusting

If this kid did come to Oak Ridge, All you wld have to do is tell him that he had to be there on time-Or tell him that there would be disciplinary action If he did not comply with the rules.. You have me confused with someone else. I have no use for Pacman and I don't want him as a role model for high school kids. I'm much more forgiving of a 17 year old than I am a 30 year old with multiple arrests. That's where we differ.

I have known kids who have horrible home issues.. From drug addicted Moms to abusive Fathers- so on and so fourth. some can hack it and some can not...Some people need prof. help rather than to be on a football team .. But that is just me.

Sweet and FHS made good points. The people you are around has a lot to do with how you deal with expectations. Vic Wharton doesn't have the cleanest record of staying on teams but he found a team and it fit. BR Coach Blade kept him on the team and he dealt with him. When you bring up Pac-Man you also have to bring up Randy Moss and his time with New England. It's about your surroundings and the expectations of the people there. I'm military so I know we hadkids that came from all source of lifestyles but because of the expectations many (not all) conformed.
