Losing the big game was disappointing for the Pirates but it wasn't bad for what everybody thought was going to be a down year. So who more disappointed us or the teams that couldn't stop us on a down year.

You write some very intelligent stuff and I like reading those posts but this would not be one.... Noone thought the pirates would be down pre-season top 5, everyone thought y'all could win it so have no clue where this post came from... Now to lose in the championship game is disappointing but Doesn't make for a disappointing season!!

Exactly Skydogg, I expect to see them back at the state next season.  I also expect them to lose again. They always have more talent than the East Tn schools. Don't hold true for some of the teams in the West.

I agree with what you said about talent. That Union City machine has alot of talent. SP will need to get to work to soon.

And why would we be a disappointment? Going into the season we thought we might have up to 4 losses going into playoffs with our schedule: St George's, Adamsville, Jackson Central Merry, ECS and possibly USJ. We thought all along '14 would be our year. We finished the season at 9-1 with our only loss to ECS and made it to the semis. Nobody from TCA expected an 11-2 season. I don't think that would be considered a disappointment. Now, next year, anything less than Cookeville would be a disappointment with 9 starters back on offense and defense and only one skill player lost.

Because y'all choked when it got down to nut cuttin' time.

Oh really? Losing to the state runner up of the past two years is considered choking? And what team do you support? I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about. The Adamsville game was still undecided with 3 minutes left. I don't think that was choking.

TCA = They.Choke.Alot

Unless you are from Adamsville you have no room to talk. I would suspect you support a team that had no expectations therefore there was no disappointment. There's a big difference in choking and disappointing, We felt very fortunate to beat a very good Adamsville team at their place the first time. Beating a really good team twice at their place is no easy task. You obviously are a hater and haters will always hate . Most likely you are just jealous! Merry Christmas !

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
    • Shoulder not going to the #### show .   Macon will name the score this year.
    • Plenty of time. The former coach was busy with family and disappeared all summer anyway. Obvious choice has the same family issues. First game is in March 2025.
