My Single A picks:

1) Jackson Co. - Only 2 losses against strong out of state teams.....defending A state champs

2) Union City - They could very possibly run the table in the regular season.

3) Clarkrange - 2 losses against AA and AAA schools... should be in Murfreesboro with Jackson Co.

4) Houston Co. - Weak schedule, but don't let it fool you.... sitting with stud players and a great coach!

5) Meigs Co. - rolling through Single A opponents with ease. Only loss is to AA McMinn Central

6) Gibson Co. - Lone loss is to Union City... young team, but still very good.

7) Huntingdon - Running through district 13A undefeated... Coach Lowery has done a great job with this program

8) Middleton - Only Single A loss was to JCS.... they just recently got their best player back. Should be competitive!

9) Community - Loss to Single A Loretto, but played a STRONG AA Creek Wood to a 3 point game.

10) Silverdale Academy - Sitting at 11-0, but really have not played anyone. Have to put them in here....

My AA picks:

1) Cannon Co. - loss was to AA Smith Co., but have steam rolled everyone else.

2) Smith Co. - Only losses are to AAA Beech and Smyrna... could easily flip flop these top 2 spots

3) Elizabethon - Only loss is to AAA Science Hill, handled all other games with ease

4) Grainger - Losses to AAA Bearden and Science Hill... strong team last year, another strong 1 this year

5) Creek Wood - Sitting with the best AA player in the state in Rachel Bell... should be in the boro this year

6) Dyersburg - Top team in West TN... losses to very good teams

7) Gatlinburg-Pittman - suffered 3 losses, but have won 14 so far

8) Covington - Should easily run through District 15... losses are to very solid teams

9) Fulton - Only AA loss was to Pittman, other loss to Farragut

10) Obion Co./Westview - Obion Co. has the better record, Westview has the stronger schedule... I honestly think Westview is the better team

Don't know enough about Triple A..... Just throw Riverdale, Blackman, and Science Hill somewhere near the top... 1 of those 3 will win it all....

Bradley Central should be in there in AAA.

Silverdale Baptist may be a bubble team in A. Hard to tell because there aren't many good A teams in the area.

Bradley has lost to Riverdale, Walker Valley and I think Cookeville. I've seen them and until they start getting more production from someone besides Copeland they will struggle. You can slow the ball down on them also. Their guards are extremely young and not that experienced. Maybe by the end of the year but not yet

In class A Loretto looks to be a strong team capable of Murphy but getting by Houston, NCS, Forrest, and Community come tourney time at sub-state level will be a tall order. Cwood is good but I think Loretto is better.

In AAA, Ive seen Cumberland. They are a team that is fundamentally sound. They played Lawrence County and Cwood this past weekend in two good games. I dont see them making noise at Murphy though. Lawrence Co doesnt have a senior on the team and are actually led by a freshman and by seasons end will be a very tough out for anyone. Coach Porter is working wonders with such a young team and they deserve bubble status, imo.

CCHS has 1 Senior, a couple of juniors, and is mostly Sophs and Feshmen too.  I have said it before this is really a year early for them, but as well as they are playing now, they will be far better by the end of the season too. This year anyone will have to go through Blackmon and Riverdale to make any real "noise" in AAA.

In my opinion, Jackson county is still the team to watch. Between Jaycee Coe and Kassidy Allen, they have the experience and talent to lead a team to yet another state championship. I feel like Allen doesn't get the credit she deserves. She's done a lot for the basketball team in her two seasons as a blue devil.

Mt Juliet should be fourth  in this poll, They beat Oakland and Columbia already by 13 and 17 respectively. They have beat everybody by 20- 30 points except for their loss to Riverdale which was a 6-8 point game until the end when fouls and free throws stretched it out. Their defense is outstanding averaging giving up only 33 per contest. Held Lea Lea Carter of Dickson County to just 6 points  They have 3 girls above 6 foot and are tough to handle on the inside. Riverdale, Blackman and Science Hill are truly the only ones deserving to be ranked higher at this point of the seaason.

I cant believe that no one has CAK on their list for AA.  If Hooper was playing i would have them at the top or close to it. This would have been her year and I dont think anbody could have stopped her.   I think they are really struggling right now trying learn to play with out her but i think they will get it toghether towards the end of the year and will make a run.  Even with out Hooper they still have plenty of talent.  I can still see them at the state tourney.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
