Top three teams win big. The 4/5 match up was a great game. I went to Powell to watch the games and the night cap was a well pitched game on both sides and had some really good defense. Not often do you see a game into the 12th inning before a run crosses home plate and I don't recall ever watching a pitcher go 12 innings and get a complete game win. Congrats to Powell, Anderson County, Karns, and Halls on winning in the first round.

Powell certainly proved that they were the best team in 3AAA this year by going unbeaten in the tourney and run ruling Karns last night 12-2 to add the tourney title to their regular season title.  Winning the tourney and hosting either Bearden or Farragut in the Monday night region round is huge, as opposed to having to go on the road in that situation.  Powell is unbeaten at home this year, so obviously staying at home vs. going on the road is certainly a plus.

Hats off also to Clinton, who had to win a play in game with Campbell County just to get in, then they were run ruled in their first tourney game before making a run to the losers bracket finals and came within a hair of making the championship round.  Great job by Brad Collette and his guys.

Also an awesome 12 inning complete game shutout win by Halls' Andrew Sylvester against Gibbs was certainly a hightlight of the tourney.  Gutty performance that overshadowed an equally gutty performance by Gibbs' Andrew Wilis, who pitched 9 2/3 innings of shutout baseball, himself, in that game.  If one didn't have a rooting interest that was a great game to watch.

The 3AAA All Tourney Team:

Andrew Sylvester, Halls

Clay Walker, Halls

Jared Ruan, Clinton

Payton Vandegriff, Clinton

Aaron Clark, Karns

Caleb Cross, Karns

Matt Oster, Karns

Tucker Pate, Karns

Keegan Judd, Powell

Sam Braden, Powell

Marcus Weaver, Powell

Tanner Latham, Powell

Dalton Long, Powell, Tourney MVP
