Oldeagle's points are spot on....He has the right to be heard for he has worked his butt off in a program that many would have washed their hands of long ago...And he's also correct, (as Pujo and I have said) there is much diff between BB and A LOT of other privates.

We happen to like ya ole boys...Dont know if that's a bad thing for sky and reaction or not :roflolk:

yep still up for debate

The fact that Boyd-Buchanan's best ever football player came from outside the county validates a lot of what has been said in this thread.

Who are you referring to as the best? If its Peardon then ya he won mr football and was a very good player, but we have had others just as talented. Will Healy was a very good QB and deserved Mr Football his senior year in my opinion.

I have heard nothing. They should be doing different scenarios-three classes, four classes, five classes, with only football schools counted and with all schools, how it's done now. For each, design regions/districts then present every possibility to the schools. Maybe it's in the works.

No committee even in place yet. It's not looking good for any change at least for another 3 years at the end of the current classification cycle.

Placing a motion on the table is just a legitimate way to disregard their obligation to quickly address any issue brought before the board. By laws state that any properly submitted issue (the petition) must be addressed in a timely mannor...the fact that Childress admits that NOTHING has been done tells the tale, how hard would it be to form a fact finding committee? As it stands the verdict won't be final before the reclassification period... the committee will take forever to be appointed, each section of the state will have to be represented by a member of each classification of public and private school, the "figures" will be mulled over, every scenario will be debated(with much different opinion of results), financial effects will be tallied (again with differing opinion), possibility of schools leaving TSSAA will be argued, district alignments will be addressed, ect..ect...and each individual step will be staged meeting-by-meeting. In the end the money and political influence will be the determining factor, and a 25 page response that would confuse a team of lawyers will accompany the final verdict...might just be worth all the rhetoric if the end result is an absolute split, but most likely their research will be deemed inconclusive, and no change made.

You is a pretty smart cookie.

But it looks like the T$$AA may have to start being more transparent in the future.

They don't even have to have a "fact-finding" committee in place to send out what the districts/regions would look like. Mail or email each school a copy of possible districts/regions, without private schools. Divide by 3, 4, and 5 for possible football breakdowns, 3 and 4 for possible basketball/baseball breakdowns. In football, do one set with all schools (how it is currently) and one set with only football schools (how it should be). These would not be final decisions but the feedback would speed along the process. This should have already been done, could have been put together in a day. In about 5 minutes I counted 290 for football, 318 for basketball, things could go quickly from there.
