That should be able to change next year. Catholic isn't playing Webb in basketball anymore so scheduling all district games in January could be realistic.

Who is George Pitts?

Hes just a coaching icon in the state. He's currently the head coach at King College, won state titles at Science Hill and Brentwood Academy. When I lived in Johnson City years ago, I saw his Hilltoppers beat nationally number 1 ranked Oak Hill Academy who was led by Ron Mercer.

Thank you.....learn something new today....why is Science Hill down....they used to be mentioned in the same breath with Mater Dei, Chicago's Westinghouse, St. Anthony's and Oak Hill.....

They are traditionally very good and have led the charge for a gold ball from east TN. They've been down the last couple of years due to a stud player leaving for a basketball prep school! Shannon Hale made the SEC All-freshman team last year at Alabama.

From what I understand (and it's by word of mouth) When Coach Goode took the job at David Crockett, a few players transferred as well including his son who is an elite player in this state.

      TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
