LOL, I appreciate your concern Warrior, I did not die... I went out of town for a few days for family Christmas stuff, and I lost touch of how our team was doing over the break.

I agree Tenntwin, I don't know 8th grade and under, but the talent 9-11 grades are certainly in CCHS's favor IMO

9th thru 11th is strong for CCHS.  8th grade has a few good players on the CCHS side, but Stone is definitely stronger in the 8th Grade classes if all go to Stone - quantity wise.  6th and 7th grades are stronger on the CCHS side.  It seems, we skip years for groups of talent.

Hey fellas. Been a while or me. I have been keeping up with things in 6AAA though. Actually helping the Richmond kid get an article written about him on The Hoops Column as an under the radar sleeper. I have to admit, I miss thinks in the ole district. Doesnt seem to be the same intense rivalries in my sons new district. We were suppose to come up to watch the C Ville v Sparta game next week but a district team refuses to play Goodpasture so they had to get another game so that was the only night available. Still wanna get out to see both teams. Alumn, Warrior, what are you guys thoughts so far this season? I am VERY impressed with C Ville so far!

Mr Payne, thanks for saying that...Btw, been hearing good things about John, happy for you all.

I am impressed with us as well. Our 5 losses have all been very winnable with the exception of Wesley Christian KY.  Really the only loss I think we had no business losing was the Cannon co game, but then again, Cannon knocked off LA the other night.

Setting up to be a 2 horse race in 6AAA as far as the season is concerned.  Obviously friday night is a big game but there would still be work left to do for the winner, as a rematch is on the way in early feb.

Tenntwin, What happened against Rhea?  Just got outplayed, or missed shots or did you have guys that were sick or injured??  I couldn't believe that score. (no offense to any Rhea co fans)

Thanks Alumn, John is having a great year. He is the 9th leading scorer in Single A in the state. Has hit 30+ 7 times this season. The team is starting to click as well. I text Richmond and his mother about twice a week. She sends me constant updates during the games. But I still havent had a chance to see them play. In your opinion, what will C Ville have to do to take down White Co?

Limit them to one shot when they shoot the 3's mostly.  I know Henderson will get his 18-26 , but when they miss 3's we have to have the rebound.  I don't think their 1-3-1 will give us a problem at home, and I doubt they will play us man, but you never know.  I really expect it to be a good game that comes down to the last 3 minutes.  Seems like at times we have struggled to shoot outside but Bundrant and Wilbersheid are coming around out there so that helps.  We have to do alot of things right to win, Free throws, rebound, less turnovers, etc... but I'm looking forward to it.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
