The turf can be tricky if you're not used to it, especially if its wet. It's much better than playing in a mud hole, like it was before the turf was installed.

The turf will make a good team better!Your kids will be fine GB of course had never played on turf other than a maybe jamboree, but they loved GCAs field it makes a fast team greasy fast.I still see a close one,at the first of the thread i said MC in a close one but i did not realize GCA is at home the old addage home fields worth 7 points,so i am changing my prediction to the home team because of the home field advantage. Also forgive me for saying this but the Refs will make a difference also, also advantage Grace. Interesting prediction.  The Chargers have tuned up there defense from the first 2 games.  McMinn has an excellent back.  He took a couple of punishing shots against MCentral.  I hope this is much closer.  The Chargers also dominated Tellico in jamboree, without 4 of their starting linemen.

I've been wrong more than most on the T. Congrads Chargers!

Wrong again, old friend. The best Grace can hope for is a Neutral Officiating crew at our own home field. For the past 2 years, we've gotten the raw end of almost every home game played. I don't even hope for a "home field advantage" as far as officiating goes. The very best we can hope for is not to get hosed too bad. Tonight was one of those "good" nights. Seemed to be a pretty fair officiating crew. They didn't get in the way and didn't alter the outcome of this one. The Chargers were extremely physical and they went hard every play. Congrats on your 4-0 start.

Just wondering, 27-20 then 27-26 final. Botched PAT or did y'all go for the win? We couldn't hit a PAT or convert a 2 point conversion until late in the game. A safety helped "true up" our score a bit. Sounds like a good game to see but a tough one to swallow if you're on the wrong end of it. Believe me I know (see our week 0 game with Rockwood).

Both teams missed a PAT. GCA went for 2 and the win with approx 2 mins to go. It was absolutely the right call to make at that point in the game. GCA had a tough time stopping MC offense all night.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
