First congrats to Centennial.

Looking back at the game; there were some things that stood out to me.

There were 5 key plays in the game.

The first came on Centennial's second series on O when MJ  dropped an easy interception. Bears would have had the ball around their own 40 yard line in a worse case scenario. Even if they would not have been able to move the ball; it would have made a big difference in field position.

Second: Cougars break a big run for about 50 yards and a score. Missed tackles by the Bears. They had him at the line of scrimmage and should have been no more than a 2-3 yard gain.

Third: Another run for a TD of about 60 yards. Bears had the back in backfield for what should have been a 4 yard loss; but the back slipped free of the grasp and at least 2-3 more missed tackles.

Good job by Cougar backs in breaking these tackles; but the tackles should have been made. Bear tackling has been pretty good this year.

Fourth- a pick six on a tipped ball.

Fifth- Receiver wide open for a score of 41 yards.

That is 4 BIG plays and 28 points. Take those away and it is a tight game.

I can see these teams playing again in November

Time to get ready for Beech.

Go Bears !

MJ was held to only 198 total yards, including -2 on their first four possessions.  They were sacked 7 times and threw 3 picks.   On D, they gave up 290 yards on the ground and roughly 400 total with CHS completing 60% of their passes.  That indicates domination, not a few key plays sprinkled throughout the game.

He made very valid points plus he was AT the game. All you did regurgitate the stats that you found online. Game could have been closer than the score indicated. That is the point being made.

    • Yeah, but if he goes to Science Hill they are guaranteed at least a win over Kingsport and that's basically the NET Superbowl
    • I expect Sevier County might be pretty good, perhaps Mo West as well.     But I don't see either of them getting out of round 2.          The rest of the region gets smoked in round 1.            Except for those once-in-a-blue-moon anomaly years the NET big schools are pretty much the same every season.
    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
