District MVP and Defensive Player of the year- Callie Hackett. Coaches of the year-Lesley Riddle, LA and Dana McWilliams, Upperman. Freshman of the year-Akira Levy. FIRST TEAM: Claudia Smith, Central Magnet-Akira Levy,Upperman-Ola Obi, Central Magnet- Kaily Winningham, LA-Gracie Maynord, Upperman. I haven't checked,but the rest may be on line at www.herald-citizen.com

with a first, second, third team, and honorable mention with superlatives ...not many starters in the district didn't get honored. Sorta over kill.

No over kill! It's too bad they can't all be recognized for the hard work they've put in to entertain all of the fans such as you and I, who sometimes don't show our appreciation for all that hard work.

40 starters in 8-AA and 15 got reconized - NOT MANY FOR A DISTRICT OF THIS CALIBER.

Just my opinion guys, no ill will intended...I counted 31 on HC honored. 014-15 District 8-AA Awards

  • Recent Posts

    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams. 
    • What do we need to do to help with Mr. Basketball?  
    • With June camps right around the corner, how are programs looking, reloading, any notable underclass coming in?
