The teams from Wilson Co. have nothing like Jones, Williams or our 2 RBs...

Obviously Montgomery County (Rossview) team had something for them. Until the final minute Da Haven had a whopping 7 points. Teams all over the state know that you could have a 5 star player being recruited by everyone at every position but Da Haven always has somebody better.

I heard we repeatedly shot ourselves in the foot against that team that is no longer playing. You mad Whitehaven has talent my guy? Too bad

Even the Whitehaven contingent will agree that this years edition of the Whitehaven Tigers hasn't won pretty. But, they have always found a way to win in spite of not playing their best football. The scary part is that their best football has yet to be played. If they put it all together on Friday night then they will be playing for another Gold Ball for sure. If they don't put it all together, they still could and should win. Where as I believe that Ravenwood will have to play a perfect game and Whitehaven not play well for Ravenwood to leave Memphis with a W. I have seen other editions of the Tigers dominate regular season games and then lose in the first round of the playoffs. This team has a special leader (QB) and it's going to take a very special team to beat them.

Have you seen Ravenwood play or any tape on Ravenwood?  I've seen WHS tape through the playoff and they must be better than they look on tape b/c they aren't so much better than RHS that they have to play bad and RHS play good for Ravenwood to get the win.  I don't see anything on tape that makes WHS look like a far superior team.

If Whitehaven loses, it won't be because they lost to a better team, better coaches, etc. Right? It will be because they "shot themselves in the foot" or made too many mistakes. There will be no credit given to the other team. Get ready for the excuses.

If both teams play Clean, it's highly unlikely Whitehaven loses... If Ravenwood flat out out plays Whitehaven all credit will be given... They likely won't do that and I doubt they can.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
