Yall have the same advantage of privates but better because you don't have to worry about academics.

Here's a good one to get everyone's response now that the games are over. For those of you who think CPA can recruit any good athlete to build their program, I know FOR A FACT, FIRSTHAND, that one of the best projected football 6th graders in Middle Tennessee (a former NFL player's son) applied to CPA before this year and wanted to go there, but did not qualify and his application was not approved. If CPA was all about building their sports programs, HOW COULD THIS BE?

Maybe, but coaching up the back up qb to throw a foward pass would seem to take priority of that. Alcoa aint Monterey. They should have 2 maybe 3 qbs on the 90 man roster who can get in there and at least guide the team by connecting on a few 10 yard curls or 5 yard outs.

A lot ask a 2nd team QB to come into a Championship game and not miss a beat. True, had trouble throwing the ball, but put yourself in a 16 year old kid with all the pressure he had on him to EXECUTE as the starting QB would have done. The only weapon Alcoa had was Tyson. Of course, CPA loaded the defense to stop him. Had both teams been at full deck, final outcome could have been different. Who knows, but don't slam Alcoa with the starting quarterback on the sideline. Had CPA's QB been on the sideline, would CPA have performed as well as they did?

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
