I'm gonna go ahead and put it out there. Gallatin needs to go after Darren Bowling from Union City. I'd make him say no. Tornadoes have won 37 in a row, averaged like 60 points a game, and had 4 shutouts this year. Coaches like that are very rare in this state, and since we screwed up by not hiring Creasy, we need to go after a guy like Bowling.

Not like Oakland overachieved. Creasy inherited a juggernaut built up by the previous staff

Normally I would agree. But changes were made last off season and we see how that turned out. As for the difference in competition... The same argument was made about Creasy when he interviewed for the job. We see what he has done in just his first year at Oakland. People argued that Quarles would suffer from tougher competition when Maryville moved up, but they are as dominant as ever. Coaches who win at the level of these guys simply find ways to win, no matter the classification.

Why did Creasy interview for the job if he didn't want to come here? It certainly wasn't to get a raise at TC, since he left anyway...

Lots of people interview, then aren't interested after they find out some things.  Creasy was not leaving TC for Gallatin.  Crabtree wasn't coming to Gallatin.  Rankin wasn't coming to Gallatin.  Maybe that's why they weren't offered the job.  Not that the people making the decisions weren't smart.  If a person leaves an interview and says "I'm not interested," you would be stupid to say publicly "we offered him the job."

I know for a fact that Creasy was entertaining the idea of coming to Gallatin. That can be disputed but I know a relative and he did in fact want to Gallatin job. Crabtree did interview for the job as well. I believe he was a finalist as well. Would he have taken it? I do not know. Rankin did inquire about the job opening but I understand that is normal for him. This all is old news.

I also know for a fact that creasy was not only entertaining the job but wanted the job. I have family that worked with him at TC.

I think him not getting the job also led TC to call Gallatin the next time scheduling came up to show "Gallatin" just what they missed out on. We know how that went!! I can't prove that but I have always felt that.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
