In the 2010-11 school year his salary was $105K. If you use that google search for tennessee teachers salary and follow the teateachers.org link. Go to supplements and it will show you how each school in the state pays teachers, coaches and athletic directors.

I believe this number include incentive pay (winning post season games) for all the extra time he puts in during post season.  If he wasn't winning, I don't think his salary would be six figures.  (Why are you doing 91s homework?  Heck, you didn't even do your own homework - jk Hero!)

He was about to start testing Pepvol's powders to see if they'd burn, so I had to tutor him. Didn't want for 91 to be served at the next Christmas party. When they started putting letters in the math I quit doing the homework!!!

That's not the point. I love UT too, but I love OR more. If GQ was @ OR I would never even think about saying something on a public message board about him leaving because frankly I wouldn't want him to. Maybe he is content with being at Maryville? From what I gather that's just what he is. I personally think he would do great anywhere he goes and whatever he chose to do, but if he was my coach I sure wouldn't bring it up but that's just me being selfish and would be me loving my High School team more than UT.

Yep!

I talked to Coach Story yesterday and he he told me the Carson-Newman job most likely only paid what he would be making right now which would rule out in my opinion of him going there. I do know a lot of people that are tied to C-N have told me they would love for him to be Sparks successor when he chose's to retire but I'm not familiar what they pay Sparks other than what I was told yesterday. I was really surprised at the job offers Coach Story turned down also to stay at Maryville during his time as an assistant and head coach.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
