Head coaching job opening at Signal Mountain

Why would you have a retirement party for someone who isn't retiring? He bailed on Signal. He knew the gig was up. Just like East Hamilton the newness has worn off. With districts changing and Price knowing he couldn't get past the 1st round,he did the logical thing;BAIL ON SIGNAL. You can say he's the beloved. The truth of the matter is that the parents(except for the ones picked up in front of Howard high school) hated him,the staff hated him,TSSAA hated him, other school coaches hated him, referees hated him etc.......... He was never about teaching the boys how to be young men. It was always about himself and winning at all cost. That's why he'll be coaching in Georgia this coming fall. He is even leaving right in the middle of the school year. Why couldn't he wait until the end of the year? Why wouldn't he finish his career there if it was such a great program? He literally quit on those young men. Defend him all you want the writing is on the wall. That video made me vomit. Why didnt you put on there, him cussing his players or show him coaching against ND last year(to show how he acts in a loss). He blamed the seniors after the loss telling them they were nothing but quitters and he got into a scream fest with his coaching staff. He is a vulgar man with a little mans complex. TROLL HE QUIT ON YOUR TEAM WHEN THE GOING GOT ROUGH FOR A LATERAL MOVE JOB.

"He is a vulgar man with a little mans complex." Why don't we arrange a meeting so you can tell him that,  I'd pay to see that one.

As much as I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, all of the negative talk about Bill Price is unnecessary, immature, and only makes those who have such strong and hateful comments to say only reflect their character instead of Bill's.

So I would like to answer all of your questions, and help those who have anymore negative comments to say, in efforts to educate, as well as enlighten you for the best benefit of Coach Price his family, friends, the community of Signal Mountain, and all of those who have been part from players to coaches, cheerleaders, band members, water girls, and all those who represent Signal Mountain EAGELS to be able to accept what is and to also be positive, excited, and hopeful moving forward from this point on.

Signal Mountain Football Program is more than just Bill, this program started from the ground up with great community support and parents. Some may only know Bill Price through what they hear, read, or see during football season but as my Uncle but I have known him my whole life and seeing his passion for coaching and ability to start programs are just highlights of his success in his career as a coach.

My whole family has been part of the journey and time at Signal Mountain the past 8 years, my grandaddy and dad on the field, my brother playing for four years and being on the team

the year we won state, my sister on the sidelines and all practices as a water girl, my aunt and amazing cousins Bill Price' wife, daughters, and granddaughter and our family in the stands at every game and on the road.

Bill loves football as well as my his family, he cares about his players and his team and always has. Family is what brought him to Signal Mountain, and regarding his coaching style

Yes he pushes his players , just as he has in his family as a father and uncle pushing us to be the best we can be and about the importance of hard work. He shows his love by being tough, but he cared for the boys and always had their best interest whether they realized it or not.

Everyone has a choice of how to respond to lives challenges and opportunities, and right now his retirement is for the best interest of the family. I believe as a father, grandfather, uncle, teacher and coach or whatever role he has in his life that others can respect his retirement because he did an amazing job throughout the past 30 years.

Football is a sport unlike any other, and to be a player that wants to succeed you have to have the mental toughness, passion and willingness to push yourself and. your teammates to work hard to get the win, to make the play and leave the field always knowing you played your best.

As for the future of the EAGELS there is a strong and solid foundation and program that has been developed and great coaches that will lead the players That are all talented because as said earlier the program is more than just Bill. This is just a transition and new chapter for Signal Mountain but regardless I know I will be there as well as my family come Friday night football season to support the boys of fall.

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't worry about who gets credit.

He is retiring from coaching. He has two aging parents that are dealing with health issues and raising a grandchild with significant health issues. Check out this past weeks Newsletter from Signal Mt. Baptist if you don't think he had a positive impact on the community and kids. I have never seen someone spew bad on someone like you. CBP will be missed badly.

TRICKY RICK CMON MAN!!! ARE YOU MAAD BECAUSE YOU CAME UP 1 GAME SHORT???DON'T BLAME THAT ON TROLL....YOU NEED TO BE CHARGED WITH MENTAL CRUELTY..

TROLL DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY COACHES MY OWLS HAVE HAD SINCE 2008??GATEWOOD, MONROE, WILLIAMS, AND NOW BRYAN.....STILL A PLAYOFF TEAM AND HAVEN'T MISSED A BEAT....NOT STATE CHAMPION YET..SEVERAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS....BUT IT'S COMING......#LOP

AND YOU WILL GET A GREAT COACH :thumb:

Ooltewah has a nice program for our area, but they won't ever be able to win a state championship with the competition they face in that division at the state level.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
