You don't have to get through what we do to get there...LoL...

BTW...We have played those gritty, full of heart teams...Chucky Doak, Cosby, Wayne County, Moore County etc at this level...Been told we better watch out for them, they will give it all they got...Maybe you guys will actually be that team but excuse us if we act like it's the boy crying wolf...

your road isn't any different than our road we deserve to be at the Boro just as much as you do these boys all earned their way there and for anyone to try and cheapen the experience for either side is pitiful in my book

Excuse me young'n, but a poster hasn't irritated me this much since 2011...All we've said is we were coming to give it all we got.

Mr Cocky, why don't you pick up that ole phone and call some of our past state competition and see if we're the boys crying wolf...I'm sure UC players and coaches are not as ignorant and disrespectful as you.

Come back and reply when momma lets you back on the puter

Going through Memphis to get to state is a little different than going through the mountains to get to state...

Heard that one for years also...Even when Science Hill was a power house for years, they were not really good because they weren't from the West...Looking at the scores thus far, looks like Mitchell is the only school that deserve to be at the boro at all. At least they "set up" the bracket to try and make sure a Hampton , Meigs, etc wouldn't be in the championship.

Once again men, we're just coming to play basketball...It's the same basketball, same height rim, the same rules (mostly) as you all are used to. Game or not, we'll be happy to be there

The Memphis road wasn't any harder than hamptons. Booker t was in state last year and meigs handled them pretty comfortably. But let me guess those meigs kids got lucky.... Yeah right..... Yes the best team comes from Memphis and that's mitchell but other than them the competition is very equal. Union city yall may very well be the second best team but thats all your doing is battling for second cause Mitchell will wipe the floor with yall like they did last year....... Congrats Hampton on back to back state appearances. I will be rooting for yall

Wolf! Wolf! LOL  seriously though again... We know how great Union City is. We know all about the superior athletes you have. We know that you are at least a 25 point favorite. You really don't have to keep telling us this. WE KNOW!  I haven't noticed any Hampton poster that has said that we would beat you all, only that we are going to give it our best AND that we are honored to be able to play the GREAT UNION CITY.  I am sorry that it is such an inconvenience to have to play Hampton but it is what it is. We will try our best to give you a little tune up before you can play Mitchell.

I'm starting to like Mitchell,

Hey Pujo, I've missed conversing with you on the FB boards. We are the only team that has faced Mitchell and UC and I can tell you first hand that you are going to like Mitchell. If it's a UC and Mitchell final I will give my assessment and you will like it. I think you guys will be competitive with UC on a neutral floor. I don't think you will win but you may play them closer than the UC fans think. One huge factor that the UC fans hasn't thought about is the arena vs the small gym they play in. They play in a gym(beautiful I might add) where everybody including the wall is up close to the floor. It's a great venue for great shooters like theirs. In an arena the depth perception is totally different. They may shoot lights out but it really could cause them problems and give you guys a fighting chance. Hampton wouldn't be there if you weren't good. If you beat UC you will be in the finals! Good luck. They will be tough!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
