ESPN felt this game was worthy of their time three years ago, and our local paper, who has the good fortune to have the two best programs in the state in their backyard cannot find the time to put any effort whatsoever to this game during the week. The meager offering they had yesterday was simply reprinting the quotes from the game five years ago. W E A K

Understand completely, the Daily "Misprint" weekly prep football preview is a little crappy in comparison to last year and years past...No weekly game(s) matchup capsules...no individual stats, of course that was left up to the schools to turn in...but still.  IMHO, the sports section as a whole has been slowly going down since John Brice stepped away as the sports editor...

 

But what really grinds my gears is their sports coverage of 'us' Greenback...not everyone in Greenback takes the Loudon Co. News-Herald, so that leaves the Times for a local newspaper.  The Times will cover us in football completely til the fat lady sings; but the other sports your lucky to get a write-up in the Sports' brief column from time to time, unless a team is in the postseason then coverage picks up a bit if that.

Great game tonight. Hats off to Maryville.

 

Was talking with Derek Hunt afterwards and we both agreed that both sides had a lot of "what if"s. I hate that the game ended that way, but we could've played better in the first half to avoid that situation.
