cofo
if 3A Alcoa can hang with mighty 6A Maryville this tight...look out CPA and CAK...the gold ball is going back to Alcoa...looks like Rankin is catching up with Quarles in recruiting... Norman Dale
Alcoa hits a late bomb down to the Maryville 10 on 4th down with less than a minute to go, but called back on holding penalty (actually it was offsetting penalties because Maryville was called for pass interference). Maryville wins 20-14. Edited September 12, 2015 by Norman Dale
cherokean
ESPN felt this game was worthy of their time three years ago, and our local paper, who has the good fortune to have the two best programs in the state in their backyard cannot find the time to put any effort whatsoever to this game during the week. The meager offering they had yesterday was simply reprinting the quotes from the game five years ago. W E A K The Times "misprint" prep football weekly preview coverage is a joke compared to last year and years past. There's no weekly game(s) comparison capsules...no individual stats, of course that was the schools' responsibility to send in, but still...moved from Thursday to Friday. But want really ticks me off...is when it comes to covering 'us' Greenback; not everyone in Greenback takes the Loudon Co. News-Herald, so that leaves the Times for a local newspaper. They'll cover us well with football, but the other sports it's a hit or miss and that being sometimes just a short write-up in the sports' brief column, if your lucky the coverage picks up during the post season in those other sports...an its been like that for several years, . The only thing I've found The Daily Times good for is to clean windows with because newspapers doesn't leave streaks like paper towels. BarneySox2007
Congrats to Maryville! No congrats to Alcoa for coming out after halftime and kicking our tail. Don't say it on the scoreboard but believe me we know it.
