Congrats to Independence on a dominant championship season. From start to finish they were the best team and last night night proved it as well.

Question for Independence fans- How many of your players are returning next year? Beause I know some teams are taking a step back next year in terms of talent and would see no reason why you all couldnt repeat.

Congrats to Sevier County on an awesome year as well. Looking forward to our rematch in August.

I believe that there are between the def and off they loose 14 starting seniors,,,, Bunch, Johnson , Stribling, Wright, are graduating...... The original back up QB who,was junior left when his dad took a job at Oakland I believe .....so not sure what the QB bench looks like.....but that seems to be the most glaring gap rolling into next season,,,,,, one heck of a team this year wish them all the best....

From an Independence parent I work with, Blade has been working toward this team for the past 3 years. They will still be good but not near this caliber next year or maybe even the next. That is from a parent.

Congrats Indy..when they were put in 5A last season..it was over then with all the players they had coming back. Bunch is going to be a steal for some college program! What a winner!

Sevier County may have looked like a middle school last night, but I saw most of the top 5A schools in the east and none of them would be able to hang with Independence.

Smoky Bears - don't let this get you down, this was your first time dropping to 5A and look where you ended up.    It's every team's dream to at least make it to Cookeville, so congratulations on that.

Great game Indy. We didn't play our best at Sevier County but even if we did. You guys would have still won. You guys clearly are state champs. Kudos.

Indy looked very very good. Scott Blade is a great coach. His offenses are very difficult to stop. They would give anyone in the state a run for their money.

Andrew Bunch is the best high school quarterback that I've seen! Indy was firing on all cylinders, congrats to Blade and his team! They are a dominant team and deserve all the accolades!

I think he's been in the state championship 3 times, won 2 and in the playoffs every season since he has been in the state. So that's a pretty good record!
