Gallatin got new grey uni's last year and the sentiment was the same. The younger people liked them and the traditionalist older people hated them. I personally don't mind them if they are used sparingly and not every game. The older people generally do have a say somewhat when the major supporters are the ones footing the bill. If I am a major contributor, then yeah I want a day in it. So it goes both ways. In a few years it won't matter if they stay with them or not.

Gallatin's color is green so I can see some people both young and old not liking gray unis in Gallatin. Our colors are Cardinal and gray so old people who don't like the gray unis are just stubborn since gray is our color. They shouldn't have a say at all. I'm not even wild about the gray myself but what's their argument? Is it that we shouldn't have a uniform that's actually our school color? Give me a break!

I guess the Bounders won't be buying any cookies!!! Lol

I'll more than make up for not buying cookie dough. The boosters need to run an adult raffle, could make a bunch doing that. And I think they have a 501-3C so it'd be legal. I'd support that.

I am not totally against the grey uni's, but I do wonder why we wouldn't want a Cardinal uniform? Isn't that our primary color scheme? I'll go with whatever the boys want I reckon, but I'd sure love to see an all Cardinal uni!

Some of you need to remember where we are....this is BIG ORANGE COUNTRY! They got the smokey gray unis (and there is no shade of gray in Tennessee's team colors) and the players LOVE them! Why do you think Sevier County ordered some? Pretty sure Karns did too. RW said Maryville did as well.  It's just what kids around here like. I personally don't really like them and I would prefer the cardinal too.....but I think Tennessee and Butch Jones are to blame for the local craze for gray unis. And I will buy cookies if asked and I love Papa Bounder's idea about a raffle.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
