I love the old time stadiums with no track , where you are right on top of the action. Here are some of my favorites that I have been to. Gallatin, Springfield, Trousdale Co., Smith Co., Macon Co., Portland, Greenbrier, Giles Co., Tullahoma, Columbia and Russellville Ky. I had to include this out of state one Rhea Stadium built in 1938-39 as a WPA project has a stone wall around it and a unique entrance with facial sculptures of famous athletes : Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe, Ty Cobb, Red Grange, Jack Dempsey and Paavo Nurmi. These places are not the newest ,largest with jumbotron and artificial noise makers and artificial turf , but when it's a packed house the atmosphere is awesome.

I agree completely. I love the feel of an old stadium.

Been to so many places in fifty years it becomes a fog. I do enjoy the small town schools because each provide their on unique experience. Also want to say I'm glad teams like Oak Ridge are playing on the same field they started on and the same with Maryville. I'm also glad that Alcoa didn't build a new stadium across the street with the new school because so many memories are on that field which they started playing on around 1940.

Your so right " currently" !!! I have seen it fade .... That football feel has not been there for awhile besides most SH games ! i think the majority of people have given up ... (when more clap for the band than football team there is a problem) ! !

DB is great, but to me it's a bit too big for me for a high school stadium. I just don't get that small town high school football feel when I'm there. Hard to explain. Plus, I really dislike the visitors section.

Maryville & Clinton. I used to despise Clinton back when they had those miniature visitors seats, but since the old home side is the new visitors side now I like it a lot. Right on top of the action. Not a fan of one sided stadiums.

You're right about Clinton. There's not a lot of room between the playing field and the seats, which makes it feel like you are right on top of the field. I'd throw them in my top 5, along with Oak Ridge, Bradley Central, Sevier County, and Columbia Central.

On the visiting sideline, which is the old home sideline, there isn't even enough room for the 2 yard buffer zone and enough room for a bench.  I've always liked that venue.  Back when they were having success the student section in the end zone would be a real factor.

I love going to Greenback games because of the small town feel. Great atmosphere. Trousdale is another good one. Heritage has an amazing view. Seiver county is another great place to watch a game. Alcoa has a great atmosphere and the Jumbotron and beautiful field,.

DB and Bradley's stadiums are pretty nice as well but I didn't think the atmosphere was as good as some of the others on the list  Oak Ridge has another good combo of stadium and atmosphere. I went to a game in Dickson County a long time ago and while the venue was the greatest the atmosphere was really good(I think they won state that year)

I'll say all round is Alcoa then probably OR then Seiver Co.

Just atmosphere, I like Greenback, Trousdale and Alcoa, then OK, maybe Maryville and Fulton and then maybe Dickson

Stadium- OR, SC and Alcoa,  then BC, DB and Maryville

View- Heritage and Cumberland Gap was neat as well.
