Back in the day at least here in East TN they called a corndog a "dipdog".

 

A couple of years ago I was at a county fair in Georgia. I walk up to a stand that was making fresh dipped corndogs. In my best East TN hillbilly dylic.....I ask for "Two of them Thur dipdogs". The girl just stared it total confusion........sigh.....at least they'll know what a dipdog is at Loudon County next Friday. Yea!

Go to New York and ask for biscuits and gravy or ice tea. It made my trip on the first day and I was there for seven days!
