Knoxville Catholic vs. Belfry, KY

Belfry doesn't dodge anyone and travels to find teams to play to provide quality competition.  That is a pretty disrespectful post or maybe just a troll.  The little "country mountain school from Ky" laid it on the big city boys last year.  By no means does it mean they will this year, but they should have KC's attention.  I expect a dogfight.  Two opposite styles, but two really good teams.

Just for information purposes, they play 6A Lexington Tates Creek, Average 6A Lexington school,  5A Harlan County, average 5A school, 2A Newport Central Catholic, 5 time KY 2A champion and finalist 4 years in a row, KY 1A state champ and county rival Pikeville, TN 4A Champ, WV largest class Cabell Midland 3A, 2000 students, WV semi-finalist and beat Belfry last year 49-7 for their only loss, District foes Pike Central and Lawrence County and they finish the regular season at 4A power and regional rival Johnson Central Ky 4A Runner-up.  By no means cupcake.

What is the official roster size for both teams? How many players play both ways for each team?

Belfry has about a 70 man roster

Bentley plays both ways . He is the only Pirates that will stay on the field the whole game.

Belfry rotates about three different split ends. Woolum is the starter though and plays the most reps, he will play full time at CB.

Belfry rotates about 4 different HB's... Catron plays full time at S and will play a good number of reps at HB. Varney plays full time at CB and will play some at HB.

Belfry rotates two fullbacks. Fletcher does not play Defense. Wellman is a stud at LB.

So one guy goes both ways full time, three start both ways but get subbed, and one starts only one way but will see key reps.

Bentley is the only Belfry linemen that plays both ways a lot. Belfry will go "Super Jumbo" with Horton where they will bring him in to spell as the second Tight End for a different look. Typically Belfry will use Miller as the #2 TE in double tights, Horton is just a wrinkle, a big, strong, dominating wrinkle.

If KC can get that offense rolling and score at least 50 points I don't see how a small country mountain school from KY who plays terrible teams can beat them.. Even if belfry has D1 guys I don't see it happening.. No knock on belfry but their schedule is pretty cupcake

Belfry will play anyone that wants to play them. They have played CAK twice and KnoxCath once over the past three years and went 3-0. They have to travel long distances to find teams not afraid of taking L's. To avoid a 9 game schedule they had to pay a team to come down from Cleveland Ohio this year.

Last year alone Belfry played the TN 4A State Champs, KY 4A Runner-Up, KY 2A Runer-Up, and 1A State Champs. They also played the then #1 overall team in WV (a school with over 2000 students).

If any other TN school is feeling froggy after KnoxCath they can give Belfry a call and get on their next schedule. Rhea County was on the hook and decided to back out at the last minute.

if we are being honest there are only about 3 really good football teams in Ky not including belfry- Trinity, Male, and St X other than that Ky football as a whole isn't very strong top to bottom
