The question is does AE have more speed than Webb? If they do then it may be a tough game for Grace. If they don't then Grace has a great shot!

Yes they are loaded with speed but Coach Meske knows more about football organization in one of his fingers than most coaches do in their entire body. The Oak Ridge game is proof in the pudding on that one.

Forget about them beating Fulton because the Falcons were pretty roughed up at that time they played and most of the teams on their schedule might have had a chance at them that night. Promise you that wouldn't have happened if Fulton were healthy. Now back to this game.

It really irks me that the State of Tennessee can't give AE their props for beating Fulton. WHO WAS HURT FOR FULTON? Please let it be know who was hurt? Fulton turned the ball over 6 times that game and AE capitalized on the turnovers THATS WHY AE won. It was an ugly game for Both offenses but AE defense won that game .. NO EXCUSES needed... AE's JV team even beat Fulton's JV team..

Someone posted that Webb has speed, yes I agree with that but he's an 8th grader doing all the teams like that . I believe AE's speed is much faster than Webbs

If Friday don't hurry up and get here ..

Webb's 8th grader isn't the only one with speed....ask OR, CAK, and Grace. I'm not so sure AE has more speed than Webb. I guess tomorrow Grace fans can tell us themselves.

I'd love to see Webb and AE play. Not sure why the RR dropped us. We gave you all home and home every year.

The new coach that year dropped Webb.... and trust me, Webb's speed is no where close to AE''s....if you don't believe tell the track coach to add them to the schedule this year

Pujo last year GCA just didn't want it like the kids do this year.  I've watched so many teams over the years and sometimes you get better results out of a group of new blood then a team full of returning starters. I've seen that so many times at Maryville over the years and I call it the lazy syndrome where you have a large group return and think all they have to do is show up because no one is going to take their job away from them. I wouldn't have given this team a chance in the world at the beginning of the year but these kids have really fought hard and only one time have I ever just seen them quit and that was against Webb.

This team seems to be playing well.  Some times losing a bunch of seniors is the best thing that can happen. I'm sure Grace has some talented kids who didn't play for um last season. They may be better than we all think.

I know the game is Friday, but he listed several teams. I was taking that to mean he thought all of those previous Grace opponents this season were superior to AE.

I'd say Harper wins 2a Mr Football. He has talent around him. Then again I forgot about Richardson.

Not going to set here and say there's no doubt in my mind GCA will win because I don't know that but before the year started I would have told you there is a 100% chance A-E will win by any score they choose. I think this will be a great game who ever wins. I have seen A-E play Halls on TV in a good game but they lost. That kind of told me GCA could play with them and for the Fulton team and the injuries they mentioned it on TV against Catholic. They plainly said a lot of their players were still getting over injuries from the Maryville game in plain English.

Why did he drop us? I know Webb had been having their way with AE but it was a win win. AE got sharp playing a tough team early and got the gate twice.

Well if that's the case you must have multiple people running below 10.9 100s. And If that's The case how in the world did Halls beat you?

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
