Wow. Them boys out East ain't too shabby. Bye bye Indy win streak. Congrats to the Gutts. I cannot stand them because they are our arch rival, but I couldn't be more impressed with the heart of that team and I am so proud for Coach Eddie Courtney who just shed a tear and gave God all the glory. Great man. Way to go Admirals. 1st state title ever, man.

That is pretty awesome. Congrats to Eddie and the Farragut team and community.

After 25 years of eatin' 'em you start likin' em brah!!!

Farragut is still a football community (and baseball, and soccer, and basketball, and track). Their facilities and fan support are top notch.

It's my perception that you're likely to keep eating those mothballs in OR because while some in town still think OR is a football community, it's not. Facilities are run down, and the community doesn't seem interested in fixing that. Even though you have great basketball and track, I don't see the overall support and numbers there. I'm told that kids at ORHS don't really care that much about sports any more.

Seems like Farragut has weathered the change from an overcrowded 2000+ student school to a more average sized large school since HVA was built.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
