taketop
Update: TWF extended term limits of officers and board members (this appears to have been done by the board and the executives without a vote from members and was done between the last meeting and this one). No change in leadership. Accountability and balance seem to be limited with terms extended and accountability resting the hands of those involved. Officers and board members can be removed early from a vote of no confidence by the board. The problem lies in the fact that the two top executive officers have been appointed as board members. Other than that not much seems to have happened. Edited September 18, 2017 by taketop
JBoskenUSAW
Odd, because I was the Regional director for Chattanooga and received no notification of a meeting where this was voted on. I expect a drastic decline in participation in the future. Unfortunate because the TWF was a respectable organization when Hatcher was at the helm. Things were done the right way. cbg
I fully understand that due to logistics conference call meetings should be conducted each quarter. However, I truly feel that TWF should have one (1) meeting each year where everyone gathers and sees each other in a face to face meeting. This "PHYSICAL" meeting should be when all elections take place. Several years ago this "physical" meeting took place in Nashville at David Lipscomb High School or in Lebanon at Cumberland University on a Saturday morning from about 9:00am-12:00pm. Other than that not much seems to have happened. It seems that according to the bylaws on the web page that board members have 3 year terms. Please visit theTNUSAWrestling.com web site to view the bylaws. As for the Board, over the past 2 years the TWF has grown, Reasons why: Cadet team going to the Cadet National Duals for the 2nd straight year. After a 4 year lay off. Reduction in National Team duals fee. SCHOOLBOYS $450 to $300 Cadets $650 to $500 and Juniors $650 to $500. Junior National Team finish 8th at the National Duals. 2nd Year that accounts are closed with money in the bank. Multiple National Champions along with participation numbers at National events at an all time high. Example Fargo wrestlers up. Club and Coaching participation numbers at an all time high. National Womans Team created and have 2 National Champions. Athlete membership at 933 up form 2016 899. Best of the Best duals being brought back with participation from State Champion from across the state and all divisions making it the premier event of the season. So it seems that with just these few accolades that the leadership and the board are doing something right. Participation numbers up, with using the same money as other boards, maybe less with a positive bank account. Good job TWF, thank you for your hard work. Does not seem like you get enough praise for all your hard work.
JBoskenUSAW
The cost of the trips have been lowered because Allan Jones cut the TWF a check for $17,000 in 2016. Will the trips continue to stay at the cost they are now? Is that $17,000 gone?

Does not seem like you get enough praise for all your hard work. This seems to be a fairly average attempt at diverting from the point. The by laws were changed when the executives and the board voted on this without the knowledge of the voting members. It was discussed at the last meeting, enacted without a proper vote, and announced at the meeting last night. Also, please don't confuse the hard work of kids and coaches as "accolades" for a governing body. I only know one guy who said he was in this for the accolades. hmmmmmm? Perhaps it is the same guy who wrote this post with detailed knowledge of statistics that only someone would compile to present at a meeting. So, did you just thank yourself? SAC
Just curious.. is this the same board that voted the Ironman from Blackman to Summit in the months after trying to withhold Blackman's fair share of the deal? Maybe the same one who gave Franklin the FS/G State Tournament but in another "meeting" took it away? Or is this the hand of the guy who "weighed" his own kid at his house? Not at the designated weigh-ins! Too much shady stuff going on, regardless of what progress is being made. Might be time to reach out to USA wrestling.
