Whitwell defense gave us a chance to win. Coach Coley made adjustments to give us a chance . Offense still has some work to do. Round 2 will be fun. If nothing else at least we made some believers out of folks tonight that Whitwell can be in conversation with CF , Greenback and now SP.

The two teams I saw on the field tonight can't beat Greenback or Coalfield. Sorry, but it's the truth. I told you from the get go. Whitwell is a solid 1A team. SP is a solid 1A team, but nothing more.

You are usually spot on but why can’t they?  I see SP, WW, GB, and CF all about evenly matched...overall.

Who said SP was going to kill them? I said 21 point win and it easily could have been but Whitwells defense held the Pirates deep in their territory every time that was about to happen. Hats off to them.

Not taking anything away from the Tigers they are a good team played hard to the final whistIe- I don't normally disagree with you PowerP but SP stopped SP several times.  I hope to see Whitwell 3Rd round I still believe SP wins by 21 at least - They will work out those mistakes and have film to prepare with. No excuses it was a one score game tonight- as one fellow said SP were a couple mistakes away from winning by three scores and  a mistake away from losing tonight!

I agree with you. We had several chances to make it a 3 score game and didn’t. As I told one coach on the way out...1,7, or 70...win is a win, another region title, and home playoff games for at least 3 rounds as long as you win.

Roy, my buddies from middle tn came all the way down here and tried to call you at Ronnie’s Red Eye.  They didn’t even know a Roy Dillard.  You must go incognito in there.  That’s just a bunch of mess.

What kind of mess is this? I garuntee you I think Heather answered the phone and she thought it was someone just messing around.  I was in there before Griders game.  You think im joking but im not.

6 from Greenback will do to either team what Whitwell did in the 4th quarter.

I'm telling you what I saw in the Coalfield and Greenback game. I'm glad we won the game, but our past SP teams from 2007-2013 would have drilled both of those teams on the field tonight. I stand by what I said earlier this year about Whitwell as well. Their skill position kids are better than SP's in my opinion. Again, both are solid 1A teams, but not GREAT teams.

    • I heard they have most of their team coming back. Who is the next coach?  Also, what about Chester County? That one has been open for a while.  Gibson County also???
    • Marion had no answer for groves last year and he’s added a lot of weight since last year already. And the other groves Marion couldn’t block…he’ll be back.
    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
