Hmmm now I don’t understand. You were the main one slamming them now you want to shut the thread down. Stir it up. Just like a pastor friend of mine told me. Don’t throw the rock then hide the hand.

Look you guys had problems...wished you the best...this has turned into a slugfest on Facebook (I don’t do fb) and all the locals are jawing amongst each other...so I take it you’re a good Christian calling me a troublemaker...not so this was my first experience on the knee thing in person...my god teaches forgiveness but I wouldn’t expect you to see that!!

Disappointed. My oldest Son is a Marine and I don’t appreciate it personally. What were those young men protesting last night by kneeling? What was the platform they were protesting?

I'd bet that they didn't have an issue in mind, just showing that they had the "freedom" to act like the NFL guys. Doesn't matter though...disrespecting the flag and the anthem has nothing to do with the "issues" that so many are upset about. Police brutality, inequality, social issues involving the lunatic far right or left...Has nothing to do with our country, the flag that represents it, or the song written to glorify it. My country, and generations of my countrymen have protected me and my right to live my life as I choose (as long as I follow our laws) without outside influence. I am now, and always have been free to educate myself, work, relax, entertain myself, and worship however, wherever, and whenever I wish. Can you beat that anyplace on earth??? Most of us on here have relatives who have fought for our republic against Nazi's and socialism...the two primary threats in the history of our species concerning racism and freedom of choice, yet a select few think that they're being "aware" or "proactive" to publicly snub MY country, which has offered them the same life choices and opportunities that I have been blessed with.

Mark Twain said "Defend your country tirelessly...your government when it deserves it".

My God has a capital G. Thank you very much. And believe me we believe in forgiveness. That is what we fought for on the young men on our team. So yes we do see forgiveness all the time. You just don’t like it when you are called out. So get back to enjoying your football. Y’all have a game next week and we don’t. So that should make you happy. Sweater vesters are out.  And as far as the locals jawing. Rewind to what started the jawing. And who stirred the pot. Then maybe you all can come together on your issue.

Those young men paricipated in a national, silent, non-violent protest of police brutality and inequality against people that look like them. I'm proud of those young men and if you would expect a school to take a knee what's a better school than Freedom Prep.

Why don't they stand up and make a stance against brutal crimes committed against them.By people that look like them

Wrong avenue for that platform. Our Flag has nothing to do with police brutality or inequality. Those have to do with ignorant racist people that are all over the whole world. They try to bully people because they feel threatened because of their own inadequacies and stupidity.

One we address the fact of systematic racism it will trickle down to crimes committed against them by people who look like them. By the way do you know how to stop the mass murders of people who look like you. It's getting a little scary you know.

Please tell what the appropiate platform would be.

They have the right to do it, but....... this is a learned response that was shown to them by grown ups that are showing them the wrong direction. In the end, they are kids, that are easily influenced. Sometimes by leaders, sometimes by followers.
