Got to second what Ed said. QB has powerful arm and quick release and he does not like to get hit. Rb can get a   few big plays but very inconsistant. Wr's have decent hands and some skill after the catch. Union City ball control game will take away what Douglass does best. If your full back is healthy you win by several scores.

Douglass is a solid 2nd round team but TCA was mowing them down with drives with Horton running the ball in second half only to stop themselves by fumbling on the 5 and 20.  Douglass has some athletes and the QB is great but UC will win this one 49-7 if they don’t turn it over.  Their QB is their punter and he can boom it!  He’s an incredible athlete.  Douglass folks were great hosts.  Very nice and classy folks. and their players were very clean and classy.  Crump stadium was great!  Loved the bright lights! Congrats to our boys on a great season despite the adversity they went through.

Buddy I hate to agree but.it's not a far fetched idea!!!UC has to control clock in a 3/1 type fashion!!!

As long as they do what they are built to do pound the ball and not turn it over they got a good shot but they don't play the pass well it's been said more than once throughout the yr. Not taking anything from UC they are a good ball team. I think it will be closer than some predict.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
