Meigs will have a good match up this week and if they win will have a huge task in the semis. Rockwood is rolling, just don't think they have played a tough schedule the last few weeks.

Can someone from Region 1 tell me how Happy Valley lost to Sullivan North?

Yea, HV peaked early and the losses to GCA then Johnson Co set up the perfect storm for SN to win the region....Id also say SN played much more scrappy in their games against us and HV than RW saw Friday night

We've heard that all year. As good as Meigs defense is you may be surprised. Grace beat Greenback in a close one. Grace beat HV in a close one. And Meigs pounds HV. Meigs would be more than capable of beating the top 1A teams in the East.

Dont use the Greenback win as a ruler.GB had Three TDs called back and made more than enough plays to beat the knox christians but not enough to beat the stripes.Only time you will hear me use the officials as an excuse but it was bad!GB should have easily won that game.

Going just off of what ive seen of the teams so far there are a lot of similarities, but i think Meigs could compete with all 4, which is still a compliment given the size difference of the schools. The top 4 in 1A in the east are all very close, it should be an exciting 2 weeks for that division.

I still can't believe Hampton got beat by cloudland. That's a big drop off in a hurry.

Too many youngins, too many turnovers, no dicipline, and lack of heart..

everyone doesn't understand the intensity level of that game either.. Cloudland always ups their intensity and fire when they play us... we just shot ourself in the foot too many times this year....

so I guess "a big drop off" isn't really what it is.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin

    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
