All jokes aside, it has been fun bantering back and forth. I know Huntingdon presents a challenge like we haven’t experienced this season. They’re stacked across the board and very, very athletic for a 1A team. I’m looking forward to seeing the QB live. I like his playing style, based on the little film I’ve watched. If we don’t come to play tonight, it could get out of hand quickly.

But this ain’t your daddy’s Bulldogs. Heck, it’s not even your older brother’s Bulldogs. They won’t hang their heads and quit when the other team makes a big play, like in years past. Coach Randolph has done an amazing job at getting everyone to buy in. Contrary to popular belief, Cornersville has always had talent (obviously not the amount that this team has), but we’ve had trouble getting everyone to trust the process. Too many players wanted instant gratification instead of putting in the work to compete at a high level. This group is the complete opposite. They’ve had their fair share of beatings the past two years, but they continued to work. We no longer have the issue of having poor participation in the off-season weight program. We no longer have to call and beg players to show up for summer practice. We no longer have to worry about having enough players to go 11 on 11 during fall practice. Coach Randolph and his staff, the player’s parents, and most importantly the players have all bought in and have changed the culture. It’s absolutely surreal that Cornersville is hosting a 3rd round playoff game. I never in my life thought I’d see that. I’m very, very proud of this group and fortunate to be able to watch tonight.

Gotta' say that I've missed some of the "junk" you used to post...you and TCStinger, seven, and snoball kept me up late a few nights. Good to see you back and a big congrat's to your Bulldogs on a fine season!!! Great post too...+1

Huntingdon fan here, I haven't posted any this season but I read a lot.  It will be a heartbreaking night for someone.  Both are small towns who feel like this is "THE season" that makes for a heartbreaker for someone.  Pulling for my mustangs and hope its an injury free game that both schools can be proud of.

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
