Just a tiny bit of news...#30 tweeted he has been waiting since his freshmen year for something to be done at the Ship. He has given up hope and will just roll with the field, locker-room and scoreboard as is. Sounds to me he is just focusing on having the best senior year he can have and not worrying what the adults are doing. I applaud #30.

#30 also tweeted he doesn't play 7 on 7 football because he gets nothing from it. Tee Higgins (Oak Ridge) and Amari Rodgers (Knoxville Catholic) from Clemson also are tired of some aspects of 7 on 7.

A while back, there was a brief mention on this board about an Oak Ridge player getting hurt and having surgery after a 7 on 7 injury. I could never get the players name because of the privacy law. I was actually thinking and being worried it was # 30 who got hurt but if he doesn't play 7 on 7 anymore he was probably not the injured player. I just hope the injured player is getting well and will be ready to go in August.

RWR!

#30 probably needs to worry and think about other things besides what happens at Blankenship Field. And since he’s a running back who rarely catches a pass and never plays defense, 7 on 7 is useless for him. Tee Higgins participated in 7 on 7.

I believe # 30 is doing exactly what you want him to do.

Did somebody say Tee Higgins? One time at band camp.....just a joke from the American Pie movies.

Super duper news for an Oak Ridge Wildcat....Senior to be Jeremy Mitchell has received an offer from Tulane University. I can't remember an Oak Ridge player going to a Gulf Coast state except for a kicker. This offer probably comes from exposure Jeremy has gotten from 7 on 7 football. Jeremy will probably get more offers. I hope the hard work he is putting in will translate to great play in the fall.

Defensive End T.J. Johnson took a visit to East Tennessee State recently. No offer yet but after watching T.J.'s Junior season highlight tape, he will get offered. A great pass rusher with a knack to knock down passer and make QBs alter their  throws, size and speed and a motor that won't quit.

OK, but does he have his 'GROWL' down pat yet?  People may laugh but a good growl to intimidate play after play does have an affect on opposing teams morale.  That and a good swim move does wonders for a defensive player.

When I was teaching the 'clone' I taught him about growling.  O-line players can use it as well to signal each other shifts and the like.

Never met the young man but I am sure he has heard the GROWL over the PA at Blankenship field and can probably swim like a big nasty Wild Catfish. My own growl goes something like GRRRRRRRRRhuffhuffGRRRRRRRRvoughcoughGRRR.. I am getting old and can't growl like I used too.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what happened.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
