pioneer42, it's not the Greenfield fans doing the talking. Zebra35 started all this. GC has one of the best coaches in the state with Wilkins and he'll have the girls ready! Everyone knows this will be a great game between two really good teams. No one with basketball knowledge would doubt GC.

Yeah I know he started it and it is a disgrace that he can make comments like this on a message board and be a referee. Not ethical. No doubt Greenfield is one of the better programs in the state and will be a tough out. Whoever out of West TN makes it to the Boro I will be rooting for. Coach Wilkins works as hard as any coach I have ever seen and deserves a lot of credit for GC being where they are today. Been around a lot of coaches in my life, but he is a warrior.

Cradle, you posted last week you were Chloe's Dad so I took you at your word. No need to pit Tess and Chloe as rivals  whether you are her Dad or just a fan. Let's think team and not promote individual awards. They both are great players, team mates and friends. We are a team with a mission and that's a Gold Ball.

I hope the people in Greenfield aren't arguing over "who is better" as that will get ya beat.  The NEXT game is all that matters.  Survive and advance.

The other girl has got to have a leg up in the voting for Ms Basketball, so I would bet on her, whether she is better or not.  Greenfield kids will split the vote, as it is hard to win when you have 2 kids, but I bet Willie T is tickled to have the talent.

The fact that you would get on a message board and insuate that you would fix a game reffing is what is wrong with this sport today. You need to be turned in to TSSAA and never see the floor again if you are indeed a ref.

Who said anything about fixing a game? Im not working anywhere in Weakley Co or Jackson for that matter so get your panties out of your butt and chill out. GC isnt anywhere near what they have been in the past. Plain and simple. Greenfield will end your season tomorrow night and it will be by 15+. Talk to you tomorrow night

Talent wise you're probably right, GC definitely has a lot less talent than they've had in years past.  And a lot less talent than Greenfield does this year.  However, heart is hard to measure.  Coach Wilkins and his girls will play extremely hard and be very well prepared.  15+ would be very shocking to me.  Look forward to talking to you tomorrow night!

Man, people have got into their feelings on this message board! lol. If Cradle is Chloe's dad, he shouldn't be posting on here comparing the 2 players. Didn't he used to help coach as an ast or something also? That can be a big distraction for the kids and a shame. If GC beats Greenfield tomorrow night I'll start drinking the Wilkins kool aid also! lol. :popcorneater:

True Greenfield fan's didn't like the comment either. Where do you think I am from? And Waitng on my Wimpy Burger. I don't have a problem stating your opinion but being a ref and having control of a game concerns me making statements like that. I hope you were joking, because anybody that would even think that don't need to be near a whistle.

Im waiting for the GC faithful to admit they just dont have a very good team this year. I know that hurts with all the tradition of years past but you are not a top level Single A school anymore. Let me remind you that you won all your titles in AA and had much more talent. The girls on this years team are scrappy and thats why you are where you are. Scrappy can only get you so far. Elite talent will take over in the tournament. Always does

Anymore????

You must not know what’s sitting in the middle schools right now... you’re making yourself look more foolish with each post you make.

As someone previously stated, this team isn’t as talented as the Heather Butler days, but this team is 26-8 right now with only 1 senior on the team and playing in the region semifinals against a team who is capable of winning the state championship this year.

Your hate for Gibson County runs much deeper than just the talent on the team, it’s too obvious. The sad part is you’ve officiated Gibson County games this year.....

IMO, every miss basketball winner that did not win a state championship would trade their Miss Basketball win for the gold ball.  There is no need to pit two of the best single A basketball players in the state against each other because both girls will get a free education to the school of their choice.  The more  the two girls are pitted against each other, the less likely they are to accomplish their team goals.  Rather obvious, I know.  That being said,  GCPioneer and Pioneer, can I get an amen as to how down single A basketball is in west tn this year?  The GC and Middleton teams of 2016 (with Lannom and Fields for GC and Perry et al for Middleton) that met in the semis at state would beat the GC, the Greenfield, the Dresden, and the Gleason along with ALL teams from Region 8 of 2018 by 20 plus points!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
