I just don't get calling a team that is likely to have back to back undefeated regular seasons "overrated". They aren't the best team in the state and I am not claiming they are but let's give credit where it is due. They are a really good football team. I agree for sure. Very good football team and would have a great record even if they had if scheduled tougher non region games. Def the cream of the crop in their region. HHS will have to play their best and catch a couple breaks if they hope to have a chance to beat Mt Juliet.

I think it's just bad luck of the draw everyone thinks the Rutherford county teams are the cream of the crop and last year it was proven with Riverdale first round win. If the didn't have to face that division in the playoffs i think it'll be a different story.

Yes I was unable to make the playoff game last year but from what I hear that game could have easily gone the other way if not for a bad start from Mt. Juliet. That is not the point though.. Oakland and Blackman are the teams to beat and until the Bears do that they will not be considered elite by many
GWAVE1
I think it is safe to say that in 5-A : Hillsboro, Beech, and Gallatin are your 1-3. Hillwood is your 4. Beech vs Gallatin will set the order. Not sure if Hillwood can beat Hillsboro or Beech.

But how can they expect to compete with the elite teams in the playoffs when they play such a weak schedule? Look at who Oakland, Blackman, Maryville, and Whitehaven play. Slow start against Riverdale was because they had not played a team of that caliber. RB for Riverdale had over 250 yards. Will not be any different this year. It will happen in the 2nd round instead of the 1st round.... Riverdale and Cookeville are not even close to what they were last year. But Oakland or Blackman will be there in round 2. I just tried to be positive for my boy on the team. I wanted him to enjoy the season as i did in high school way back when, but this is terrible. Terrible for the kids. Terrible for the parents. I will say after seeing WC, I don’t think talent is the problem. Not that y’all have a team full of world beaters but the cuppard is definitely not dry. I’m not sure what the problem is up there, just my opinion but y’all should be on the plus side of .500 with the players you all have. Everybody wants their kid to be a winner but many times how you deal with things when you don’t win is more of a life lesson moment. I have always thought Wilson Central has played with a lot of heart. Good luck the rest of the year.
