Vandychris
Summertown has been much improved. Very stiff defensively in scrimmages with Richland, Perry Co, and Lawrence Co. Actually beat LCHS 21-7. Deep at rb, solid at lb. Two qbs are back that played alot in 2017. I think they will surprise a few.

Much improved over the week before. If this team has some early season success and gets some confidence back they could go on a roll. Last year's team cared more about the after party than the game result. This is from multiple sources. Not all of them GA!
GeneralForrest
I believe you RJ, and I don't know you or if you had a kid on that team, but I certainly meant no offense sir! Salem- can you be more specific please?

All of these observations are strictly my opinion but to me the team looked sharper and much improved over the MP scrimmage a week before. Some of the playmakers appear to be on cruise control in these early scrimmages and some of the younger skill players have stepped up and look pretty good. Lots of depth at RB. Not many teams will stop the run with 7 in the box. If the QB and WRs can get it together and just complete over 50% of their passes the offense has a chance to be very productive. Another wide open receiver running a post was missed or couldn't bring in a TD pass on his fingertips this scrimmage on play action. He should have caught it but the throw made a simple reception difficult. Defense has been solid in both fall scrimmages. DL is much better than last season. Secondary should be improved. Any of the top 4 teams in this region can beat the others with a few breaks or miscues.
GeneralForrest
Great stuff Salem- much appreciated. I would prefer these kids remember last year's unpleasant close losses as opposed to thinking they will somehow magically arrive this year as a birthright. They SHOULD be competitive in every game. Will they? Effort and discipline will tell
GeneralForrest
#2 last year at times looked like he had the chance to be the bets Rockets QB ever. I really hope he is sharp. The team could be VERY tough to beat if he is.
GeneralForrest
If they can complete even 30% of passes, or about 1 per 4-8 downs, they will be light years ahead of most Forrest teams.
ddaddy
LC Scrimmaged Harpeth last Friday and looked more polished. I'm afraid that Harpeth will have a long year with some very low numbers.
