Greenback cannot help their region schedule. Their non region schedule is pretty difficult. That helps them prepare for deep playoff runs. I'm sure they are like  Lake Co and So. Pitt with many quality upper class teams not wanting to play them. The season has not even started yet. All schools with a legit shot at Cookeville will have to stay pretty much injury free and catch a few breaks along the way. Good luck to all teams this season.

Bryce Hanley should definitely be a finalist this year with Gilbert gone I believe the reigning Blue Cross/ Blue Shield game offensive MVP will be able to rack up enough stats even though Greenback has a ton of weapons. Unlike a lot of one pony shows that play a weak schedule and rack up ridiculous numbers. Bryce would also be our defensive MVP or tied with Reece Plemons. If you actually gave the award to the best "Football Player" in single A Bryce Hanley should win it hands down.

i agree. haven't seen him play in person but watched his hudl highlights and he's good. silky smooth throwing motion. has tons of good receivers too.

Not saying he isn't.Not saying he is.Don't know how you can make that statement without seeing all the other players.I'd put Johnson up against any running back. But again.I also haven't seen all the others.

LC qb is smooth also and a bruiser at 6'3 and 225 lbs.And has a rifle arm. Played with a torn labrum since about the third game of the year last year.

i know johnson is probably the best rb this year. Snyder is also very talented but he won't have the numbers he could have because the offense runs heavily through johnson. i would like to johnson win it.

also snyder is coming off shoulder surgery and i've heard he's a bit rusty. I'm sure he'll shake off the rust though. hope to see lake county utilize him on both sides of ball.

Imo it is a political award for the most part. The people who vote on the award usually doesn't see all the players from across the state.

I agree.  I’ve seen guys get the reward seems like only because they were being recruited by a power 5 school.  Then they get to those schools and never pan out.  Then I’ve seen other guys with way better stats but have to go to a d3 school that never win it.  Yet become all-Americans in college.
