Sequoyah High School coach Bobby White has resigned to focus on family.

 Jones told his coaches this evening that he is stepping down at Hardin Valley Academy to become an assistant at Science Hill.  

HVA is a sleeping giant, IMO.  They have the potential of taking the next step with the right hire.

Wes Jone did a pretty good coaching job at HVA taking the program from it's very start. Not sure what percentage of those kids in that school would be at Farragut and what would be at karns had HVA never been built. Karns has really never had anything in football long as I can remember and only serves as a guaranteed win when you look at your schedule before the season in most cases. That being said if a large percentage did come from Karns he sure did a good job of covering the scent up if you ask me.

More students from the Farragut and Bearden zones were zoned HVA than Karns kids.

Interesting that more times that not, coaches who step down with that "reason" are coaching elsewhere within a year.

I dont disagree. I was merely quoting from the newspaper article.

Family is always a good "reason" to move on or step down without causing too many problems. I suspect he probably had disagreements with administration or other coaches. It is rarely ever truly about family.
