Hmmm.. I was thinking about the weak region argument and I realized a few things.

1. Alcoas region has won the state championship ever year for the last 15 yrs except 1.

2. Our 4th seed beat another regions 1st seed in the playoffs. 

3. AE is a top 5 team in the state and theyre the 2nd seed in Alcoas region.

Region may be better than some realize. Which region is better?

IMO if AE was playing anyone other than Alcoa they would be either the favorite or it would be a pickem type game. AE is no joke this year they are a very good team.

AE is possibly the 3rd best team in 3A this year, on their home field maybe 2nd. That being said, I pick Alcoa 42-8.

The weak region argument just doesn't hold water.

This "WEAK" region has won this thing the last 15 years. Kinda wondering which region would they like us in? Do we need to just alternate regions every year?& to my tornado goons & most of all players, so many people want to crush us, see us fail,but our boys have a lot of fight & heart,& that's hard to overcome! Believe in our system, let the haters hate, the wannabees want & let's be ALCOA!!! if people want to see us fail, I say come beat us, but you better be ready to be hit & hit hard, you better be strong enough to play 4 qtrs,& play till the last tick of the clock! Alcoa is a great place, school, & community, & I'm proud to be a part of such a great group of people!!! GO TORNADOES!!!! GITER DONE!!!

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.

      Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?

      Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
