If you slow the video down and play it right the Alcoa boy goes down and touches the ball before he gets touched go ahead and fast forward a little and you will see what truly happened. At this point #2 for Upperman is not touching 19 and we all know that 19 didn't come up with the ball.

Not that it makes any difference now, but what does it matter if he touched him, blocked him, before he touched the ball, after, whatever?

The kicking team isn’t allowed to make contact with the receiving team until the ball has traveled 10 yards, unless the ball is touched first by the receiving team. The ball also can’t be touched by the kicking team before it travels 10 yards. In the case Friday night, it appears both rules were broken by the kicking team...

Just curious, which rule are you citing?

If you're referencing NFHS (not sure if this is what T$$AA uses or not) it says: "Any K player may recover the ball before it goes beyond R’s free-kick line if it is touched first by any receiver."  In the video, it appears the A player touches the ball first.  The rule says nothing about contact in 10 yds.

You are worse than a couple of the Democrats in the Atlanta and Florida 2018 midterm election. Your team lost. Move on....

Agreed, nothing changes the outcome of the game.  However, name calling and saying move on are not discussion points, they sound like diversions.  I've officiated, I've read the rules and I'm not here to argue, only to understand.  Just trying to get some clarification on previous comments where rules may have changed.  This is a discussion board, win, lose or draw does not effect who can discuss what as long as it doesn't violate the rules of the site.  So, if you would, please clarify the touching rule and the "contact" rule in the context of what can be seen clearly on video.  Thanks
