GHS will have to pony up if they want to make a splash! Here again what is the level of committment to winning! TCHS, Macon have sweetened the pot in the past! Otherwise why make a move to get someone with no HC experience? Not TP or RP I am talking about. Gallatin people have never cared much for the Perrys! How about a younger Satt?

GO JACKETS!

Shhhhh! Lol Blake is the next HC in TC, book it!

Here's where it gets tricky.  An established winner (as a HC) at a large school doesn't have a lot of reason to come to Gallatin.  Winning at a smaller school doesn't always translate to winning in the larger classifications.  I believe a good coordinator from established programs in the same or larger classification may be the best route.  Either way, you better be ready to give him some room for his staff.

I disagree.  7 years ago there were a bunch of established winners with state championships applying.  No reason to think they would not now.

Beating Oakland, 6a semifinalist Brentwood, Jalen Hurd led Beech, Hville all in the previous season might have had some of the bigger name guys licking their chops at that time. It will take a man who can see past the current state.

I don’t think any of that made a difference nor does the current state.  It is all about the potential and there is a high ceiling.

7 years ago Gallatin was coming off of a very good season, 10-2.  The best record since was 7-4/8-5, with three losing seasons.  The program is not in the same state it was then.

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few. And as far as Wilkins riding off into the sunset, where do y'all seem to think he will leave?? Wilkins is a healthy dude and he loves basketball and loves coaching. I wouldn't be suprised if he coaches a few more years. He loves the game and loves every minute of coaching.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
