It's being reported that Elijah Young was ejected for targeting in the 1st quarter. That explains a lot.

OK that would be 90% of there threat... But... And more But... So that would reason... With Powell they can actually loose a player or two without real damage... And that is way too scary... LOL

I have a serious question for Powell fans! Is The Qb for Powell overrated? I don’t think he’s anywhere close to accurate. I think that will be a huge problem down the line. Does anybody agree or?

Overrated?  In what sense?

Trussley has a good grasp of the offense and gets the team in the right situation.  He has a very good arm (verbally committed to ETSU as a pitcher) and can make all of the throws required of him by Coach Lowe's offensive scheme.  And he's not the fastest guy on the field, but he runs well enough to get yards when needed.  The defense has to account for him.

And most importantly, Powell has enough talent on the field that he isn't asked to win games all by himself.

HTV and osunut are correct about the talent at Powell. If anyone is to beat them, you will have to outplay them.

Oak Ridge is not ready to play with them but the Wildcats have shown the ability to improve from week to week. I hope we give them a tough game. RWR!

First matchup between SD and Powell might not be that good. Both teams might be resting starters for the playoffs. But if SD can make it to the semi finals and Powell does as well, Brang might be back for SD and that might be an incredible game. I think a fully healthy SD team is the best to challenge powell this year.

So my question wasn’t answered... is his passing not a ? Mark on accuracy? I know what his surrounding cast is. I’m asking do you guys believe he has the arm to win when it matters verse good teams! I don’t think he’s very accurate that’s my read on him.. Powell’s good all around but idk if they’re good enough from qb

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
