FORREST AT SUMMERTOWN

Summertown is difficult to read this year.

1. Blow out loss to Mount Pleasant, who was smoked at home by Cornersville (down) and Fayetteville (up).

2. Comfortable win over a very down Wayne Co

3. Squeaker over perennially mediocre Colinwood.

4. Squeaker over weak sister Richland

5. Shocking road upset over 2x defending Region champ Lewis.

6. Equally shocking struggle to put away Loretto (Who Forrest boatraced, and might win one more game) in 2OT.

Strangest 5-1 I've seen in a while. What insight can Eagles fans contribute here?

I agree with your every game analysis except the Collinwood squeaker part. We had Collinwood something like 40 to 7 at halftime and it was basically our JV against their JV for the entire second half.  So that game was more like the Wayne County game.

We weren’t ready for Mt Pleasant.  I think we underestimated them like Lewis County underestimated us . As far as the strange 5-1... the only thing that I can come up with Is that our boys seem to play up or down to their opponents each week.  I was thoroughly shocked at how we could not seem to put Loretto away when everyone else has had no problem this year. I am hoping that we play up to Forrests game this week.  I know it will not be because we underestimate them. Forest is the real deal.

garbage. esp this year its a huge game. we have beaten them back to back and we have to drive a zillion miles. esp for me if i go from Algood. gimme AT community. we could beat them with our cheerleaders and band.

Your band is no joke. Got to see them Saturday at Trousdale County. Took 1st in their class. Hope Summertown gets to that level soon. Look forward to seeing them again Friday night.

no feel for this. anyone?

Outside looking in, this could be your hardest game it would seem on paper besides the Lewis County game coming up. I'm curious how this one ends up as the loser fights for second in the region ?

on paper i think we smoke them. but this is high school football and they were a TOUGH out last year.

having said that, we have inproved our results agaisnt every team from last year.

Eagleville-

Last year lost 14-13.

This year won 28-7 and game was never in doubt.

Loretto

Last year won 32-13 but it was very close, 8-0 us, at half

This year 35-0 at half and 41-0 with the game almost over.

Last year with Summertown, we outgained them but kept shooting oursevles in the foot. We were also coming off the Eagleville loss, and I feel distracted and experiencing self-doubt. Hopefully this year our kids have learned and will come focused and ready to play their best.

Summertown's win over Lewis cannot be overstated. They beat a defending region champ 2 years running on their home field. Much respect.

Last year (until the Waverly game) Forrest seemed to have good players, but weren't a good team... this year, they seem to have good players, and are a very good team. Sounds silly, but those who understand will get it.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
