Oh sure you can do prep work.  But it is no substitute for in-depth game notes and stats prepared by sports information departments that have all day to research that stuff.

Are you honestly trying to say there isn't a big difference between broadcasting a high school game and a college game? You are nuts. I have experience doing media work at both levels. There is no contest. Doing a high school game is much harder. It's the same situation in print/web media as well.

It's about prep work, either way.  And the game notes, etc are a big part of the prep work.  The problem is that some sit back and wait on others to do their prep work for them, and others actually take the initiative to do their own prep work.  You can tell who has gone in which direction.

And I have done both high school and college games, as well.  Been there done that, got the T shirts.

It's not rocket science if one will just put the necessary prep in to it.

We get it. You know everything as usual.

My only point was people form opinions on broadcasters based on what they hear from other broadcasters, usually broadcasters at the college and pro level. And your average Diamond Clear broadcaster doesn't have the time or resources that college or pro broadcasters have. That is just a fact.

Also, a lot of those guys are young and/or inexperienced. And, and as is the case with just about anything else, it takes time to get good. There is no substitute for real world experience.

One of the many problems with their broadcasts is they constantly get names wrong. I’m sure they have a roster in front of them. No real prep required.  Some of the guys sound like they really don’t even watch or understand football at all, which is a real head scratcher. They always have problems getting the school abbreviations and logos correct on the display, scores and clock are also incorrect.  Working a full time job or not, you have to take a little pride in the product that is being produced. That goes for anyone with a side gig, not just broadcasters.

No. I Don know everything. But after nearly 30 years I do have a pretty good idea of how it works and what it takes to be prepared and ready for a broadcast.

In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
