Is yous defending the TSSAA?

Probably not but there are a handful of posters from Waverly and Peabody hanging on every word the @GeneralForrest types on here ready to take the opposite position.

In case you haven't been keeping up with his frustration. Suppose South Pitt is hanging on to a 1 point lead in the 4th quarter of this Friday's game with Greenback. Then suppose South Pitt stops Greenback at the 50 yard line and forces a punt. On the punt South Pitt is called for an illegal block and the refs give the ball back to Greenback 15 yards downfield and they go on to score what turns out to be the winning TD. Then you have Greenback telling your kids to get over it and that the call didn't matter because you got possess the ball again. That's the cliff notes edition of what happened last Friday night.

It was a blind side block and it was the wrong call for them to give the ball back to riverside. It’s done there’s nothing that can be done. It happens in football and it happens in life mistakes are made and sometimes you can’t fix it.

it sucks but sometimes you have to beat the opposing team and the refs. It’s happens at all levels and it still happens even though they use replay now.

General exaggerates and should expect  what he gets. You can’t call people names like a child and expect no one to respond

That’s not the case. Just like what Tide21 is saying, you can’t expect someone to sit here & try to belittle others & then not expect to have backlash. General makes a lot of good points but this particular subject has been blown way out of proportion. We have acknowledged that the penalty on the punt was enforced incorrectly. At the end of the day, you still have to fight to overcome the adversity. As I stated previously, Forrest had the ball 1st & 10 from around the 15 yard line with time left & couldn’t score. Let alone a first down even. So it’s not like that penalty happened at the end of the game & you guys weren’t ever going to get the ball back. My whole case in point is, Forrest still was given a chance to win this game despite the officiating. So don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Officials are well paid ( supposedly professionals), accountability has to be a top priority. It appears the penalty enforced incorrectly directly influenced the outcome. Not knowing the rules and unable to proper enforce penalties is inexcusable.

a ref call caused the wrong result in a quarerfinal playoff game. with what energy should this be approached?

they arent even able to see how this affects all programs because if it can happen to one school it can happen to any school.  i expect zero complaints about refs in any games involving the schools fans who poo poo'ed my posts on this issue.
